Hi, thanks for your inquiry. Our charging method has typ-c charging cable charging, and the other is solar charging. You can choose how you like to charge it.

It has solar charging but warning on the box not to leave it in the sun??

The description means do not leave in direct sunlight for too long as with any solar powered charger system prolonged sunlight will buckle and damage the photo charging battery cells you only need about 30 mins to keep it topped up in direct sunlight

Light is fully charged but spot light modes don’t work?

If the side light works I would guess the spotlight led has failed.

How many minutes does a full charge typically last with the main strong beam active?

I don’t know but as the torch is solar charged it is continually recharging. It is an excellent long range torch/searchlight.
