Matcha DNA Certified Organic Matcha Powder, 12 oz Bag, Green Tea for Lattes

On a whim I ordered a lavender matcha oat milk drink at that big expensive coffee shop and I loved it, but not the nearly $9 price. Of course Amazon to the rescue! I understand there is a huge range of uses, quality and prices of matcha. I searched and searched thru the matcha listings, looking for something with a reasonable price for the quantity you get but yet a decent quality for what I wanted to do. This matcha powder wasn’t the cheapest and the reviews varied, I am guessing depending on what you are intending to do with it could have a lot to do with that. The matcha powder I received is a bright green and very smooth like chalk powder. It covered my hands from reaching in the bag so I put some in a smaller container to make it easier to scoop out. Using a basic $10 frother I was able to mix 2 scoops matcha with 8oz oat milk and the matcha completely mixed with no graininess, it worked similar to shake it. I added my own lavender cold foam and ended up with a perfect drink that tastes just like the one I spent $9 for. I did not have any bitterness or odd aftertaste. I imagine this package will last a really long time only using 2 scoops per drink but I will not hesitate to purchase this brand again for this specific use.

This is my first time trying matcha, and I love it! Everything about it is great: the health benefits, the taste, and how it makes me feel (healthy, energized, and focused). The taste resembles green tea, though it is a little stronger. I’d say the taste also slightly resembles spinach, which I love. You can certainly adjust the taste by how much water you add. I've also tried adding milk, which gives the drink a more delicate flavor. I love the taste, but even if I didn’t, I’d still drink this for health reasons. I’m very happy it’s not radiated, like a lot of matcha is. Since matcha contains more antioxidants than blueberries or pomegranates, I’ll be drinking a lot of it next time I’m fighting a cold. Matcha is caffeinated, so it would be an excellent replacement for your morning coffee. One way matcha is better than coffee is that matcha gives you energy without making you jittery. Normally, I can only drink caffeinated coffee and tea in the morning. If I drink it after lunch, I feel jittery. But I've been drinking matcha every day after lunch, and it hasn't made me jittery at all. The 12-ounce bag contains 226 servings, and it also comes with a measuring scoop, which is nice. I have no complaints at all. This is a great product, and I will be buying more of it!

I make a Matcha latte every morning. I love that the MATCHA DNA Matcha Green Tea is certified organic, if you use a blender it mixes well and is a delicious way to enjoy its healthy properties. As you can see from my photo I use a generous 2 teaspoons of organic matcha green tea, organic almond milk, collagen with peptides, organic medjool dates, jujube extract, and organic hyperbiotic brand pre-biotic powder and monk fruit sweetener. Drinking this daily has helped me loose weight after spending months on a discouraging weight loss plateau and it kept me from gaining weight during the many thanksgiving potlucks and temptations. I’ve been a fan of Matcha Tea. Every time I went to a sushi restaurant, I had to drink a couple cups of Match Tea they offer there to neutralize the strong taste of some sushi and wasabi. And I love it! Even though I don’t usually buy Matcha Tea powder and make the tea myself, this Chinese-made Matcha DNA Tea tastes very close to the tea I drank in the sushi restaurants. It feels smoothy and doesn’t taste bitter like some other green tea. I only need 1/2 spoon of powder to make myself a cup of tea. It is good for accompanying with food that has strong taste. It can booster the energy and healthier than drinking coffee and coke since it is 100% organic. Blending with water or milk / soy milk are great choice!

My family LOVES green tea, especially matcha. It’s something that just can’t be imitated and it’s hard to find some that’s not only “good” but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. We used to drink our local brand, which is very, very good, but $20 for 8oz? We needed an alternative, or at least something that we’d like to drink day-to-day and leave the expensive stuff for special occasions! TL;DR This stuff is amazing! We have a lot of different requirements in my family. My wife likes hers sweet, my Grandma likes hers creamy, my Grandfather has to control his sugar, so it cannot be sweet and I like it lightly sweet AND creamy! What’s great is that it comes completely unsweetened! It can actually be a challenge to find some that isn’t sweetened. Trader Joes has a really nice matcha for an okay price, but you cannot get it without a whole bunch of sugar and other sweeteners. It’s great as a gift, but not good enough for the family! So, after trying out this kind, I have to say, it blows away our expensive favorite. The color is perfect, the aroma is to die for and it tastes perfect. It’s light, it’s earthy, it tastes exactly how it’s supposed to taste without any filler or weird colorants. (I once tried a brand that was neon-green! Bleh!) In addition, the packaging states that half a teaspoon is perfect for an 8oz glass, normally I do a whole teaspoon, but I tried it according to the packaging and it was perfect! I got the 12oz bag, and if that’s all it takes to make a perfect cup, this is going to last a long while! I might just pick up the 1lb tin next! I love this tea! The color, aroma and taste are just perfect, check out my pictures! I frothed some organic soy milk and made a hot soy matcha latte! Nothing better on cold nights with the family!

I love this tea although it is first brand I have used (new to Matcha). It really regulates my system depending on where I am and what I need in the moment. It definitively energizes me in the morning and it has a soothing effect in late afternoon. For the first time ever I am replacing my morning coffee with Matcha some days. Still, the "wake up" effect is not as strong as in coffee, (at least not as in expresso or creamy strong coffee) so I'll go for coffee if am specially sleepy, but Matcha is my second option by far, it makes a difference compared to anything else. I personally like to have a big cup of Matcha, add a teaspoon of sugar and some almond milk. This I do specially recommend to add the first few times you try Matcha as it is so bitter initially. First time I had Matcha I totally disliked the taste. It takes a while for you to adapt and get used to the new flavor and bitter taste. I started to get used to it after drinking 3 or 4 times and now I like it very much. Sugar and Almond milk helps with the adaptation process. Because of the bitterness Matcha can give you nausea if you have it on an empty stomach, specially early in the morning.

I bought some upper-mid tier matcha before, but I wanted to drink it frequently without spending a lot per ounce. I figured I would buy a couple of the larger bags with good reviews to see how they compared. I'm glad I did. the three I compared are: Matcha DNA Certified Organic Matcha Green Tea (12 Ounce) Starter Matcha Green Tea Powder 12oz Tmatcha Matcha Green Tea Powder 8oz as soon as I spooned them out onto paper, it was obvious. the DNA looked grey and old. the Starter matcha seemed ok, and the Tmatcha looked better than the mid tier I bought for 8x the price. Taste-test. I pre-warmed a couple shot glasses, then poured exactly 1/2 teaspoon of matacha into each, then filled them up with 89°c water. I stirred each and sipped them. the taste followed exactly with the visual. the DNA was grose, the Starter matcha was "meh", and the Tmatcha was smooth, flavorful and had a sweet aftertaste. I think you could easily find better matcha than Tmatcha, but not for the price. if you want upper-mid tier matcha for a cheap price, Tmatcha is definitely the way to go. the Matcha DNA is not terrible for the price, but there is better out there.

Retracting my previous review: 'This is a cheap matcha, only good for baking.' Also, I'd like to change my 1 star to 3 stars. Now I think this matcha is good — not great — for cold drinks with whipped cream. Obviously, the price is an advantage. Therefore, I will buy it again for cold drinks with some sweetness.
