does internal swr meter work well or do i need a seperate meter to tune it correctly

Measuring using internal SWR and external SWR, both measurements are equivalent to almost identical. But the internal SWR meter has a feature where it produces continuous sound when the measurement is 1.0/1.0, and it produces discontinuous beeps when measurement is not 1.0/1.0. This is an excellent feature from President, it does not require to read the display when tuning the antenna length for SWR. No, an external SWR is not needed, should not waste money for one

Doesn’t this radio do FM mode as well?

Update to the people saying that FM is not allowed on the CB Band.. The FCC recently changed their rules [§95.971(a)] allowing AM, SSB and FM. I hope a future version of this radio supports FM.

Is this a good cb for a cb beginner?

You want this radio. It has SSB for better distance. This is my Favorite CB Radio

Their made in Minsk but have an office in Naples Florida, I believe that's where they come from!
