ITW Ramset 00022 HammerShot Low Velocity Powder Actuated Tool .22 Cal

I recently began building a chicken coop on a concrete floor in my barn. Plans called for installing a pressure treated sill plate. The Ramset Hammershot .22 cal tool really saved me hours of time installing the sill plate. I had never used this type of tool previously; however, I watched several YouTube videos as a tutorial before starting my project. This tool certainly beats drilling holes for tapcons. Quick and easy way to set a sill plate to a concrete floor. Well worth the money.

Great tool and really easy to use. Really good on tight spaces.

I had seen a few YouTube videos of this on use and thought it looked simple enough. It is simple to use, although there are a few times the spent cartridge would not come out. Sometimes, the ramset would have to be completely taken apart and the cartridge drilled out I only needed the ramset for 1 project, so it will suffice. If you plan to use it more often, I would get the auto-actuated version. It is much nicer. One thing I noticed if it doesn't fire with the first blow from the hammer, pull out the cartridge and the nail and reset them. Often times, the nail will not fully penetrate if I just tried hitting it a second time.

Might be operator girlyman swinging of the hammer causing me to have a hard time to get this thing to work.

It has lots of miss fires

Save your money, buy a different hammer. I've had two of these and the powder load gets stuck after discharge in the tool. There's no way to get it out afterwards, so you're left with a $35 paperweight
