Look carefully at instructions and pictures!
The doors are great and do indeed fit my Heatilator EC42 fireplace perfectly. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars so you would read my review and not make my foolish mistake. For some reason, I thought the handles should be at the top of the door so I tried to put the right door on the left side and of course it didn't fit properly as the shorter bushing and roller need to be on the top! After I corrected that, the doors overlapped in the center. I sent an e-mail to the help desk and Glen suggested my unit was pre 1997. All I had to do was move the bushing screws to the alternate set of holes about 3/16" inside of the original mounting holes. While the alternate holes were not tapped (threaded) it was quite easy to carefully start the steel screws into the alternate holes. Problem fixed without having to ship back. If you suspect your unit may be pre 1997, call for assistance before you order. Despite these issues I think I made a great purchase. The doors look and function perfectly.

Great Glass Doors for EL42.
This fit on my heatilator EL42 model. Took about 30-45mins to install and adjust (mostly adjusting to get it even). The wrench that comes with it is useless and didn’t even fit the nuts, use your own (Very minor complaint). Looks great in the end, but there is a slightly wider gap in the middle than the other gaps in the door (see pic). Opens and closes fine, just a little scratchy since it’s not on wheels, but still really like it. Looks like it was always there.

Great for the money.
The product is about as good as you can get for the money. There are better doors available but certainly not for the price. One thing I wish was better were the gaps between the glass and on the edges, but again, expected for the pricepoint.

Nice Look, Nice Fit, some instruction clarifications would help.
I love the look and the fit. REMEMBER, if the doors don't fit (vertically) initially, you need to adjust the mounting pin positions.Initial installation took seconds, HOWEVER, adjustment took about 20 minutes to get right. Basically, you need to slide the 4 pins in the tracks to get the doors to fit evenly and level. After much trial and error, I found it best to - loosen both pins - adjust the door position - tighten the lower pin - adjust the upper pin so that the door is level - tighten the bottom pinSomeone else, especially the manufacturer, may have a better suggestion. The instructions are written in English, but need some diagrams. For example, showing the correct installation of doors (indicating handle is on bottom).

Doors Fit My Heatilator EC42 Perfect!
I bought a house with a Heatilator EC42 (post 1997) that had no doors. I bought the black doors and they fit and look awesome. The installation was a little more difficult than a slide and click because someone in their infinite wisdom put fat head screws that hold the clip in the track that got in the way. It amazes me that they didn't use flat head screws in a track. I solved that by taking the clip off to get those screws out of the way and then reinstalling the clip with the door hinge post in the clip. It took about 20 minutes longer with a slight alignment adjustment but worth it.

This DOES fit Heatilator EL42!!!!
I can agree with most others, installing the doors are easy. Adjusting doors takes a little patience. Doors look great!!!! The manufacturer could possibly give a little more details on correct spacing of the doors. Including a video link that doesn't send you to some Chinese YouTube video that doesn't pertain to fireplace door installation. Overall pleased

Amazon asked me to review this product that I purchased, so here goes
First off, one of the glass panes fell out of the holding frame. I had to make extra pressure clips to hold the glass in place. Second the paint finish is very thin, so be careful when using tools near this item, the paint will scratch and/or flake off (I covered these areas with a black Sharpie) and third, the door pivot pins are of a smaller diameter than the predrilled holes they fit into, so you get a lot of slop and the doors go out of alignment after multiple opening and closing which makes the whole install look shoddy. The only redeeming factor is the price. But if you get it right, it does look good. It covers up that big hole in the fireplace which was the main reason I bought this.

Fit great with little adjustments
There is a small gap between each glass panel and we are fine with it. I feel better leaving having the glass doors installed. They made my fireplace look updated.
