Easy to read and to apply
The authors and editor of this edition worked hard to present generally accepted theories from political and policy analysis science to explain the behavior of individuals and organizations acting within the policy arena. Not every possible theory or model is included...nor should they be. This is a succinct textbook intended as a tool to prepare and guide the novice Registered Nurses and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to influence health policy and politics locally, regionally and at the national level. The book relies upon the well-accepted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Policy Process Model as the guiding structure for discussions. It is evident that the nurse chapter authors have expertise in their areas of policy discussion.

Multiple Inaccuracies
This book presents as fact multiple inaccuracies. For example, four pillars of health policy are presented as fact, but other reputable sources would list different pillars. Additionally, most theories presented lack substantial evidence to be presented with the factual tone the authors use.
