Poor quailty. Cheap. Don’t work. Waste of money.
Poor quailty. Cheap. Don’t work. Waste of money. My 8 year old son used his own money to buy these, and he was so excited to have walkie talkies that matched his nerf guns. Shortly after the return window closed these stopped working. I could change the batteries (every couple days) and they would work intermittently for a little while, but by the 3 month mark they were junk. Every few months I pull them out, put fresh batteries in them and hope they will work.....but they never do. Don’t waste your money! We have other walkie talkies (different brand but samePrice point as these) that were purchased at the same time for my girls, and those have worked just fine and continue to work fine. So it’s not the price point itself, or being too rough on them, etc. It’s just a crappy, poor quailty product.Extremely disappointed.

Not worth the money
I wanted these to be better than they were because of the price but they're pretty much useless. They look kid friendly and are easy to hold and easy to use but that's where anything good about these Walkie Talkies end. They're full of static and you can barely hear someone even if your're in the next room. We ordered two sets of these and both of them were nearly impossible to hear someone through. If you're going to spend the money and get your kids some walkie talkies just spent a little extra and get a really good set that your family can use when hiking or camping. Hope this helps

Static is louder than the voices
(There seem to be two products for sale under the same item. My review is for the two-set of Nerf walkie talkies that have an orange tip on the antennae, the pair for $15-25. I don't know how well the $45 pair functions.)The static on these is outrageously loud, while the voices coming through are barely audible. There is no Squelch knob to adjust this static and they certainly weren't 'tuned' ahead of time. It's nearly impossible to hear someone talking on the other end. There is nothing tactical or spy-like about these: no one would be able to sneak up on enemy combatants.I was hopeful that these analog devices would remove the initial delay that many digital walkie talkies have. These Nerf items do remove the delay, but they're otherwise unusable.

Background noise
A lot a stuff in this product isn't good. First of all it has all of this background noise that doesn't even let you hear anything the person on the other side is saying. So unless the person you're talking with is 10 meters away you cant hear them. Second of all this doesn't even work from 2100 feet away. Maybe it does but their voice is very unclear. Lastly, it is too big. For a product that doesn't work good, I would expect for the product to be very small and that would be a good excuse. But no it's huge and it can't even be fit in my pocket and trust me, boy pockets are normally huge.

So much worse than expected!
These are rubbish. Absolute garbage. I knew they'd be poor quality in terms of having bad range (but thought it would be fine for playing in the yard), but not be actively hate-inducing. In addition to the loud static they constantly emit (with no volume controls to lessen the noise!) they have a "Morse code" button, which adds loud beeping to the mix! The 9 volt battery requirement is also annoying. I recommend buying them only for the children of your worst enemies.

Not Impressed But Good Enough
These were a good price so I purchased them for my 8 year old. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed. They're rather large compared to the newer small models (more expensive though), and they are very scratchy sounding. You can hear each other but it's a little annoying (to a mom anyway). I also expected some sort of Nerf material on them for protection but there was none. Its just clunky hard plastic. A positive is its relatively easy to use so perfect for kids. My son enjoys it which I guess is all that matters.

Constant Static Noise
There is a loud constant static noise. it was there the first time we used and still there now. its annoying. not worth the cost saving to listen to them...that's why they are cheap. that said they do work, range is good. Also note there is a morse code beep button...which kids ages 5 and under seem to like to just press, for long periods of time. Annoying.

Disappointing! If you want to have contact outside of you home this won't work.
These things make an awful noise like white noise but amplify it by 10. They don't work with any distance.I though it would be cool to have 1 with me inside the house while they boys played in our 1 acre backyard which is grass I can look outside and see them so I didn't expect anything to interfere tree's ect.. that would not get the single to me. The only reception I was able to get was my son in his bedroom and me in the livingroom less than 15 to 20 feet away. I was bummed. These were built for kid's and seemed sturdy. I know what there doing inside the house. But when I am busy inside I want to know there safe outside too.
