The one shown in the picture has a helper handle also, but the one I received doesn’t have helper handle, as the pan is heavy it’s difficult to use without a helper handle, I think I have received a duplicate one, not the original pan

As a single person, I wanted something in cast iron that I could use for making small meals but would be a snap to clean and wouldn't develop rust spots if it wasn't used for a couple of weeks. I have found just the thing! I have a kitchen full of All-Clad, Calphalon, Le Cruset and Lodge, plus various other brands but my new favorite is my 8" Crock Pot artisan enameled on steel frying pan. I am even ok with the color of blue it turned out to be.

I love this pan! All my Teflon pans are aging, and with the new information about these chemicals and cancer, I did not want to go with Teflon or anything like it again. But, I am old enough to remember what washing pans was like before Teflon (why do you think it was so popular?) and really didn’t want to go back to spending hours scrubbing copper and aluminum, or dealing with the rust and constant seasoning required with cast iron. The enamel coating on this pan makes it almost as easy to clean as Teflon, without the health dangers! It is still very heavy, it is cast iron under the enamel, but that means it cooks evenly and holds heat well. No hot spots, no cold spots. And, it’s pretty.

Well crafted skillet - the perfect size for cooking small portions. I poached three eggs in this easily. Could fry two eggs. Smaller is better especially for the cast iron which weighs a tad more. I am systematically replacing all of my cookware with enameled cast iron. This is the first Neal end cast iron skillet I’ve purchased. I’m going back for some larger sizes. Very happy with this purchase. Exactly what I wanted.

A beautiful pan! I definitely will be buying a bigger one. So easy to clean too, and distributes heat so evenly.
