Review: Just okay- hard to follow British English - The book is okay. It was fun BUT…I think the story line is a little confused. I almost wished the author broke this book into three separate choose your own way stories (separate books) with more developed story lines for each (the aliens, the pirates, and the jungle). By the time you were introduced to the characters you’d move on. Further, I’m not sure if the author is British or what? I’m American, but I found the flow and use of words a bit tough. Ie “scamp” “freebooter” “pong” “cheeky” aren’t words often used in American English. The tense was a bit odd too, shifting between present and past tense. I thought for the target age group (I’d guess ages 3-8) the words and syntax were just overly complicated even for British English. I was having to stop and explain what the author was saying (not in a good way). My 4 year old has always loved books like the 'You choose' series but I was looking for something a bit more grown up for him. This is perfect! It has 3 different themes, you choose your own story so the book can be read countless times without repeating the same story. I also love how each page has something to engage and interact with whether it is a question for them to answer, an action for them to do or something to do like trace the maze. He now wants every book in the series!

Just okay- hard to follow British English
The book is okay. It was fun BUT…I think the story line is a little confused. I almost wished the author broke this book into three separate choose your own way stories (separate books) with more developed story lines for each (the aliens, the pirates, and the jungle). Amazing and engaging, you'll buy the whole series!
One of the most beautiful and engaging books we have bought. My 4 year old has always loved books like the 'You choose' series but I was looking for something a bit more grown up for him. This is perfect! It has 3 different themes, you choose your own story so the book can be read countless times without repeating the same story. I also love how each page has something to engage and interact with whether it is a question for them to answer, an action for them to do or something to do like trace the maze. He now wants every book in the series!

Don’t buy this
Terrible book. My son did not like it at all. Poorly written, not even mildly entertaining. A much better choice is “What Should Danny Do? It’s fun and highly educational.

Loved by 5 year old nephew
Bought for my 5 year old nephew. He loved that he got to choose a different story and he wanted to read the book straight away. Nice feel too the pages too and illustrations are lovely. Overall good value for money and nice interactive book.

Brilliant but can be confusing
Love how we can make our own story up as you go along by going to different pages but sometimes it can be a little confusing and you wonder if you've made a mistake at some point and sometimes you find yourself questioning the story as it doesn't make sense.
