I thought it would be too end heavy for me to handle. **Q: How far does the saw reach. I have some high dead beaches to remove.** A: Only as high as you can reach and still push in the handle. **Q: How is this with a thiner branch. Will it would it work with a smaller branch that will bend?** A: Yes it works quite well with any branch that fits in it's "mouth" **Q: Normally on an ornamental tree, you'd under cut the limb before cutting to prevent the bark peeling back. Is it necessary with this type of saw?** A: I don't think it's necessary, it gives a clean cut all the way through. The saw blade closes in to the limb diameter as you press down. It's possible to do if you wanted to. I'm not a tree specialist, however.
