Glimmer Goddess Organic DHA FREE Self Tanner - (Dark) Sunless Tanning Lotion 8 oz

Finally!! After developing a DHA allergy and trying countless self tanners and spray tans , this is the only product that did not cause burning hives all over my legs and chest. Because I've had reactions before, I made sure to spot test this before applying over my whole body. I also made sure to prep my skin like I would with any self tanners, exfoliating 24 hours before and moisturizing the dry areas. The smell is great, like citrus and cinnamon. The product is quite runny, a little goes a long way. It takes some time to develop, but I was pleasantly surprised on how even the tan looked, especially on my lower legs which has always been a problem area for hives and uneven colour in the past. The colour is slightly more orange and not as "deep" than other tanners I've used, but overall it's a light/natural glow that I'm happy with! Honestly I'm just so thrilled to finally find a DHA free product! I'll be a customer for life!

I'm olive toned and think I look a little healthier with a bit of color, but I'm also skin care conscience about tanning/laying out, and found out years ago I'm allergic to DHA, so bronzer isn't even an option. Laying out is sortof a pain, since I cover face/neck where I use retinols, get tan lines, and get sweaty/tired.Years ago I found one truly organic bronzer product that actually worked without irritating my skin; however, it's pretty greasy, has a strong odor and glimmer to it, so couldn't be worn to bed, under light clothes, under makeup, etc. It's expensive and such a labor to use I found myself rarely even wanting to do it.I came across this product (which is probably about the cost of one spray tan) and decided to try it. And YES, it definitely works! I went pretty light on the first application but saw streaks on my feet days later where I didn't blend very well (and like the bottle says, nope, this doesn't just wash off). So the good news was, it was working lol, the downside, I had streaky feet for a few days and some blotches here and there.SMELL - it smells like a glazed donut. If you're really conscience about any possible smell, I'd recommend applying this 3-5 days before an event so you get your desired color and are minimizing the scent. If you're using this often, I would say on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being super obvious and stinky, this is a 2 or 3. If you are really sensitive to smells, it may be more for you. After my lotion and perfume, I find it hardly noticeable.APPLICATION - after the Streaky Feet incident, I used a MAC 810 brush to apply a line of product to each general area, and use circling motions to cover and blend. It's impossible to tell when you first apply this if it's even, so doing so with the short soft-haired brush helped eliminate much room for error or embarrassing blotches or streaks.I don't leave product reviews very often, but since this is such a niche market/product, thought it would be helpful to other people who can't/won't use DHA but still want to get a "healthy glow". I also think this is a small business, so hopefully this honest feedback helps as well.No product is 100% perfect in every way for everyone, but I for one have absolutely no skin irritation, can use this on my face and body with no reaction, thought the price is reasonable, and find the color to develop into a nice tanned brown. My legs are notoriously hard to tan unless I am at the beach. After years of using Jergens self tanner I developed an allergic reaction so back to white legs.I so wanted this to work but it doesn't. If I used lotion first to avoid blotching it didn't tan at all, if I just used the product I ended up with blotching and it seemed to darken any spots on my legs but not much else. The ONLY positive is it did not make my legs itch.Very disappointed and will not buy again.

I don’t usually do reviews but that’s generally what I look at when I’m purchasing something. This product did what it claimed as for the color and the ease of applying it but the smell was atrocious, like vomit. I don’t know if mine was rancid or what but I was only able to use it 2x, if I could smell it surely other people would too !

So so great. Lasts a long time. Even color. Doesn’t transfer on sheets or clothes. Doesn’t dry out skin. And no nasty tanning smell over time (no DHA)! Best one I have ever used! Please don’t ever stop making this. We need it.

I bought this because I was searching for a sunless tanner that did not have the trademark smell after developing. I thought it was the DHA in other products that caused this smell. Going on, Glimmer Goddess DHA free tanner smells pretty good, like a glazed donut. After it develops, there is a brown sugar and pee smell that I was trying to avoid, but not as strong as other products I’ve tried. The lotion itself feels amazing, dries very quickly, and keeps my skin very soft. The color is golden yellow, not brown, but I ordered dark. I will probably reorder because there are more positives than negatives. I’m going to get some of their regular lotion too, because I really like the way the tanner feels and I’ve had no adverse reaction to it.

So the scent is nice. The lotion is smooth and most importantly it did not make hives on my body. I was looking for a product without DHA. I am a long-time user of self-tanners and all of a sudden, I was getting hives from them. I tried this product now for about 3 weeks. No Hives! However the tan is not real apparent. I got the dark one but it really doesn't compare with the brand name tanners "color" I used to get. So its good on the skin but color wise, I'm not impressed. Especially for the cost.

I was allergic to DHA itching when I would get hot. This product is wonderful no itching and it is a pretty natural color. I bought the dark. It’s not really dark. It’s more medium in my opinion, but I love it.
