Sterling Silver HistoryExperts believe that silver alloy, used today as sterling silver, originated in continental Europe in the 12th century. Pure silver was found to be a soft and easily damageable material. When combined with other metals, most commonly cooper, it produced a tougher material that could be heavily relied on. Throughout the next few centuries, sterling silver was used as currency and for household items. It was often used as silverware and became the material used in a proper table setting between 1840 and 1940 throughout the United States and Europe. Because of this popularity, silver companies began to grow. During this craze, companies began to experiment using sterling silver compositions in jewelry, as it was a material that was easy to mold into intricate designs and gave a luxurious look with its metallic finish. Today, sterling silver is widely used in all kinds of jewelry styles and shines as beautifully as other precious metals, with the benefit of affordable pricing.Sterling Silver CompositionWhile pure silver can be combined with many different types of metals, sterling silver is created when combining pure silver with copper. Sterling silver jewelry can be composed with different amounts of copper but is most often seen with the .925 stamp, meaning that the composition is of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper. This has been found to be a good combination for maintaining the silver's durability without harming its sparkle.Caring for Your Sterling Silver JewelrySilver should not come into contact with harsh household chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, or chlorine. To avoid scratches, store silver in a lined jewelry box or pouch, as it is prone to tarnish as it naturally reacts with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the air. Cleaning and wearing silver jewelry regularly will prevent this and help maintain its shine. Immediately upon noticing any discoloration, use a gentle polish made specifically for removing tarnish.

Don't Wear the Bracelet Daily or Very Often
Great presentation, and looked fabulous.I have been wearing my silver instead of gold daily. I put the bracelet on in the morning, and take off at night. And, it has been 3 or 4 wks.The bracelet is nicked and scratched. I looks as if I've had it for years, which is disappointing. I was considering returning the thing. However, my sister suggested wiping it with a jewelry, cloth, which gives it shine and kind of hides all the battle scars a bit. So I'm consider against returning the bracelet.

Beautiful Bangle
This is a lovely braclet. The clasp on mine was defective and would not close properly, however, amazon customer service was very gracious and immediately replaced it with next day delivery. I was thrilled. It is just the right size and a classic. I highly recommend to anyone looking for one like this.

The whole item was terrible. I opened the gift box
The whole item was terrible. I opened the gift box, and it immediately broke. The bracelet was so hard to open, I had to ask someone to open it for me. What a hassle to get it unclasped!!!! Put it right back in the box, and sent it back to be returned. Poor, poor quality👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Pretty
But becarful. Since this is a bangle this will dent easily. I forgot about that when I purchased it. I sit at a desk and type so I can't wear this to work or I will dent it up. Other than that, it's a nice piece of silver

Very pretty, fits well and wears comfortably
Very pretty, fits well and wears comfortably. The only complaint is that the latch sometimes sticks making it extremely hard to open especially if you are wearing it.

Nice bracelet - good size and weight
I really like this bracelet. I would have given it 5 stars but the locking mechanism was bent when I got it and it took me quite a while to get it open and straightened out. Thanks goodness I knew what to do. Otherwise, I wear it daily and really like it.

Defective
Bracelet had defective hinge. Don't bother ordering this item. Also, I don't understand why the bracelet dimensions - such as the width - wasn't presented in standard jewelry terms. This is a relatively small bangle.

Silver really nice, good weight to it
Silver really nice, good weight to it, but I returned it because the clasp was all but impossible to use. Hurt my fingers to even attempt it. Big enough to slip on and off without opening though, just would rather it be a bracelet without a clasp OR have a clasp that works.

5 bracelet and this slides on comfortably and i dont have to worry about it falling ...
As with other reviews, the clasp is hard to open however i usually wear a 7.5 bracelet and this slides on comfortably and i dont have to worry about it falling off. It's a nice weight and well made. Classic that can be dressed up or down. Overall I'm quite happy with this purchase.
