What's not to love about a smart cube?
It's a pretty good speed cube. Corner cuts well (meaning if the rows aren't totally aligned it will still rotate and snap accordingly so really helpful for faster cubing! App is OK, a little clunky. I prefer Rubik's Connected App or the Go Cube App... but I bought this one to work with the robot and they work amazingly well together. Love the smoothness of the cube, the fact it's stickerless, and that it cuts corners. It doesn't get misaligned like a standard Rubik's cube. Love the weight and feel. The tutorial classes are great! What I really like about this cube is that the app rotates the cube with you, the others don't. App is a little buggy, but still a really great cube and trainer!

Most Aggravating App in the world
update: after using it for a couple of days, I love the whole setup; cube and robot. Yes I am avoiding the competition mode with other cubers as all I wanted from this whole setup (robot and cube) was a way to scramble the cube after each solve as I feel a manual scrambling no matter how great the effort is not good enough. I am using the app under "device list" where I connect the cube first then I connect the robot, otherwise connecting the robot first would somehow scramble the cube without the cube registering the fact (very strange programming indeed). like why? I find myself asking "why?" a lot because I find that this single app isn't very well integrated with both the robot and cube but yet it is integrated because the robot has know the cube position before solving. So as I said, I am using the robot under the device list where I can click on scramble or click on solve. Under the device list for the cube, you can sync, use photo sync where you take photos of all sides of a scrambled cube and now the scrambled cube is sync with the phone and you can put it in the robot to solve. So under device list there is no scramble then timer to solve. I mean logically it should be here like scramble the cube, take it out and a timer should begin or at least a button for you to tap for you to solve the cube. After solving the cube there is no APP reaction. Like why not? like yay! I solved the cube! anyway I have been doing this throughout the day when I need a distraction, much like a fidget Rubik's cube that I can hit scramble then solve and just leave the cube in the robot arms. The app is a chore to learn like even the photo syncing of a scramble cube had no prompts so I had to guess at all the different color sides of the cube and one of the errors was that taking a photo of the white side and attempting to take the same photo I get a message that it is an error that the cube had more than 9 sides? why? why? Anyway who can understand the eastern philosophy of why? But the one thing I can say that now that I got it to work, I love it.Original review when really angry: For Durability I gave it a 1 star because most users would have thrown everything across the room and would have shattered any cube. Spent two hours trying to create an account on CubeStation and because the app doesn't match the YouTube cube station app I was suspecting that I got a malware app. Ran the app on both an iPhone and an android phone trying to figure out how to create an account and even after creating an account by accident it was difficult trying to sign in using the accidental account on my android. As far as I'm figuring it out, you have to sign on using "forgot my password" at which you use the verification code plus new password to attempt to sign in, and somewhere (on iPhone) the sign in process disappears and ask if this is the first time you are signing in and then it creates a new account with your password. The thing is I could not find a place to change your password. I spent two hours trying to figure this all out and I was about to return everything as I even bought the Gan Robot. Not everything is in English as even error messages are in Chinese. This is probably the worse designed app ever. Even after signing in, it is very difficult to understand how to use the app and it is with sheer will and determination that I manage to wrangle what I needed out of the app with both the Gan Robot and the Gan cube that works alongside the whole contraption. All I wanted was a robot that could scramble my cube after solving and once I figured it all out, taking probably about 3 hours of trial and errors, the system works. The robot does not hold the cube tight enough so I put elastic bands around the arms and it turns out that after you put the cube into the robot you need to twist the 4 arms clockwise to lock the cube in. It all works... Gave it a 1 but decided that it is worth 5 stars but begrudgingly.

GAN 12UI - the best smart speed cube ever made
This review is for the GAN 12UI (I have 2), not the GAN i3 (I have 5).They are both good, but the GAN 12UI is simply amazing. It is for all intents and purposes a main top of the line speed cube... that is also a smart cube. Excellent weight, corner cutting, and durability.I average 17s (Ao100) with a PB of 9.7s and have more than 50k solves with the app. Most with the GAN i3 which is also a good cube, but is not quite as fast and is a little heavier. If you know a speed cuber and they don't have this one yet... get it for them. It's that good.

Cube good, App mediocre
The app is useful (somewhat) to solve a messed up cube, but MUST be connected and logged in on some server in a remote country. The GUI is badly designed, too much visual clutter that serves no purpose, and I could go on. However my time has value too, so I'll stop here. Overall, I got what I wanted, a way to solve the cube while I am still learning it (I avoid all tutorials, the joy of solving it by myself is what my goal is)

great product, almost perfect
app is only partially translated from i think japanese but you can still find your way around, and the cube is really really good, i had a great time with the timers and there are lots of diffrent things you can do so when it gives you a scramble it can already have the cross solved or the first layer so you can see your time on individual layers.

do not recommend if you have an android phone
I have a few GAN puzzles and looked forward to getting this one for it's ability to play against other players and learn different solves. Unfortunately, it's been a nightmare. My first cube would not charge or stay synced. It was at 35% battery when I got it so I thought that might be the problem. I emailed GAN for help but got no response. after a couple of days I returned it for another thinking I got a bad cube. The new one had the same issue. I sent another email for help but got no response again. After playing around with the charging cables I did figure the "not charging" issue. The puzzle will only charge when hooked up to a standard USB port. I was using a USB C charger. I guess too much power, I don't know. Even with a full battery the puzzle still wound not stay synced to the app. After a few google searches, I found that this is a common problem for android users. After a few days I did receive an email back from GAN asking to send an email to the after care service, which is the place that I emailed, SMH. I wanted it to work so bad, but it just doesn't.
