DUAL MONITORS FOR MACBOOKPROS WITH M2 chip!!
I have a MacbookPro with a M2 chip, and I can FINALLY have a double monitor again!! I've tried so many other solutions that didn't work, I'm so happy this did (along with the plugable dock)! I tried different docks, different adapters, software, etc. I'm so pleased this actually works!!!

Just what I needed
The cheap laptop I bought only had one HDMI port and the USB ports did not support video. I already had an HDMI enabled monitor connected to my laptop, but wanted a second display for work. I plugged this unit into a USB-A port, plugged an HDMI enabled monitor into the unit, and now I have 2 working displays. It really could not be much more simple.

Works Great
We use these for adding a monitor to laptops and such when they are not connected to a docking station. The USB C adaptor that come with them can be slightly cumbersome, mostly because you have the whole thing right in the side of the laptop. We bought some USB to USB C adaptor cords that were longer so that the device did not need to be right on the side of the laptop. Over all quality of device and picture is great. If you need to be able to add a second monitor on the fly, i would highly recommend these

Cheap 3rd 1080p Monitor Support for M1/M2 Mac Mini
I was expecting issue with a blurry image, or slow response times. It worked great on my M1 Mac mini for a 1080p display. I've only had two issues with it:- When my computer 16GB of RAM on my M1 Mac Mini goes red with memory pressure, they display may just freeze and I'd need to open up the screen display menu and disconnect and reconnect to fix it. I assume macOS pushes this out of memory.- I have HDMI switchers and every so often when switching between computers, this can freeze or out right crash the software. I just do the same method as above or restart the software and it works fine again. They are not major issue and more edge cases than anything else. Other than that can report, its a much cheaper way to get a 3rd monitor for a M1 Mac Mini. This has been put into USB hubs and still works perfectly fine. One minor thing you will need to understand is that this will take CPU from your Mac machine. I do video editing and software development and its almost never been an issue so you'll never notice it, but it can spike to 120% CPU which is 1 and 1/4 cores on my M1 processor, which has a total of 8 cores.

FAILED AFTER 3 MONTHS
I've needed to plug a HDMI cable into my computer and since I have both a new and older laptop, this one adaptor with the USB-C and USB would do the trick. The adaptor worked fine for a few months but gave up working. It's beyond the return period so I'm stuck with an adaptor that is out of commission. I needed to buy two separate adaptors to connect to the HDMI cable. SAD =(

Finally
I purchased 3x HDMI to USBC before I finally found this one! solved all my problems. Works great on a USB C plug that doesn't support video.

This is great!
It literally does what it says you want to use a monitor via usb this is the device not a switch not a splitter its its own feed. I want to add a fifth monitor with my set up as one of my gpu slots is for a tablet and the other is for a VR system and this did the trick. Simply download your appropriate driver, plug in the adapter, plug in the monitor. Also they have a video of 14 monitors being able to be done with this... Amazing can go that far.

Works Great!
Following the directions, this totally works!! I have tried numerous items/options that maybe I didn't fully understand how they worked (splitter, switch, etc.), but this totally works to extend another computer monitor.
