Oboz Arete Low B-Dry Hiking Shoe - Women's

I wanted to love this shoe. I have narrow feet, and Oboz seems to be the best hiking shoe company I’ve found for my feet. I have a pair of Oboz boots, but wanted a low cut style for warmer temps. Unfortunately as other reviewers have stated they run shallow in the heel. No matter how tight I laced them up they still slid walking around the house. I wear a 10 in hiking shoes (9.5 regular), and I don’t think sizing down would help the problem. Otherwise they felt great - light weight, comfy, no break in needed. Sad I have to return them 🙁.

The shoes are comfortable enough and good for light hiking even in wet weather. But not very breathable and they are bulky and heavy although they are supposedly on the light side. Maybe this style is discontinuing. I’d go for other options out there.

The first day I bought these, I wore them on a two hour hike. Not always a wise move, but It worked out great. Felt like I’d been wearing them for ever. I hike in the woods a lot. The fact that they are waterproof is great when the trails get mucky. I have two pairs. I keep one in the car in case I’m out and find a good spot for a walk. I also like the style. Cut and understated. Not cartoonish like a lot of shoes these days, in my opinion.

This is my second pair of Oboz. My first pair is at least 5 years old and I wear them at least 3 days a week all but during winter. The price is steep for me but I have tried many less expensive shoes and most brands do not fit as well. I have a history of foot problems; Oboz shoes are more comfortable than most brands.

Love these shoes so far, as I’ve only worn a few days to break in before hiking on vacation. The weight is light and look great. Super comfortable.

They fit me perfectly right from the first-they really didn’t even need much breaking in. They’re a perfect hiking shoe for lots of different types of terrain and I am very happy with them!

The pink grosgrain that holds the shoe lace is not sewn in the same place on both shoes and it makes the pair of shoes look strange. I'm trying to decide if that 1/4" difference effects the wear of the shoe. It definitely looks strange because the pink tab is sewn at the top of the shoe brace on one side of one shoe and the bottom of the matching brace on the other shoe. The shoe lace at the top of the shoe where the tab is sewn too high on one side is angled instead of going straight across the shoe. This is a workmanship defect, for sure! I am hesitant to return these shoes as I really need them and they fit better than other shoes.
