Ultra Coconut Scraper/Peeler Attachment - Works only with Ultra Grind+ Gold 2-Liter Wet Grinder

Very good attachment from Ultra. It is made for small size coconuts. But if one carefully grate it, big ones can be grated too!

Does what it is supposed to. But, please note that it will require replacement of the base rotating after removing the belt of the unit inside. Just ensure that you order the right model. They come in two models (as I know). One model suits the grinder with a gear that has three prongs / cogs. The other model suits a grinder (Ultra Grind + Gold) which has a gear with four prongs / cogs. See pictures. If you have four prongs / cogs, order for this model where you found this review. The vendor has unfortunately not taken the effort to explain this with pictures.

There are no directions and apparently lots of people have the wrong attachment. Mine fit oddly, I thought it was too far from the tray, but glad there was a gap since I had to remove the scraper pole with the claw of a small hammer and silicon pads to cushion the side of the pan against a dent. It fits VERY tightly. I caution, do not try to hold on to a smaller piece. I think it will be very handy when I have several coconuts instead of two.

This item doesn’t have the dimensions specified on the box. If you have a small table top grinder, do not buy.

With very little online documentation on compatibility; very little documentation of note anywhere on the mfg website; it is a sad story that it doesn't fit the model it was advertised to work with. Moreover, it came in a package that appeared to suggest its having been bought and returned many times (despite being sold as new). The Elgi Ultra customer support (in Chicago) was equally (0-star) indifferent - not giving a hoot that accessories matter in functionality and satisfaction. Not even minimal doc details to accompany though the one-function accessory may need little; though still had 3 segments to put together. As it is the brand is poor about documenting model, accessory and availability of spare parts - given the competition is, in general, equally matchingly bad in that discipline. I had to return it.

First time I used so kind a hard for me, but still got the job done.

Tried to grate coconut. 1. Manufacturer sent the pan very filthy, I had to was it few times. 2. It was not easy, as the lady in the video suggests, to hold coconut over the grater. Definitely not meant for ladies. One slip, one can get hurt very badly. My wife was watching me do it in dismay. 3. Cleanup is messy. Grated Coconut gets into gear area etc. Be prepared to spend whole afternoon to grate one coconut and the messy cleanup. Not recommended.
