Well, I bought this knowing that it was truly overkill but sometimes having point around coming in handy down the road when somebody is having a problem somewhere, maybe a family member a friend and of course myself and opening it up I was amazed I thought wow this is really nice so yes, it’s quite a bit but it’s OK and it makes a great stocking stuffer for husbands and handy guys and yes, even your boyfriend’s ladies I just like this. It makes it so much easier to do the job. It worked very well.

Have had a few of 'cheaper $7' variety setting tools. They would last for about 30 or so anchors, and begin to degraded/ bend. This design is, so far, more durable and easier to use with 1 caveat. The power of leverage is against you when attempting a 'full pull' set. I found it much easier, and even more precise, to keep the handle closer to each other to start. It means more adjustment is needed before anchor is set, but I haven't pulled a single thread out. The cheaper yielded a 20% loss due to screwed up anchor threads, though not sure why unless anvil wasn't lining up correctly. This tool? Perfect size and performance. ~100 anchors set, absolutely no issues. Oh yeah. When you get yours, glue a small magnet inside the handle to hold close-loop out of the way. Otherwise, you will often find yourself trying to squeeze handle but loop is interfering.

The tool itself is good and seems durable enough. Only used it a few times so far but seems like it'll hold up for awhile. The fasteners that they come withon the other hand are not soo good. You can feel the loose play in-between the screw threads when it's fully screwed in past all the threads. I had 2 strip out on me which causes a real problem taking them back out the wall. For the money the tool is worth it but I recommend different molly fasteners that won't strip out. I'm very disappointed with them.

I bought this set with high hopes that I had discovered the wall anchor to end all wall anchor worries. Alas, I was not just disappointed but down right p%#@&. Out of the 4 wall anchors I placed, only 1 worked. The gun worked as the ad described, but the anchors themselves seemed to be flawed. The screws they came with strip out when you use the gun to collapse the anchor. Once the anchor is even a tad bit collapsed in the drywall you can’t get it out without cutting it out. Very frustrating. Even the one anchor I did manage to make work didn’t seem to give that tight, snug feel to the board. It still wobbled around on the wall. I would not purchase this again. The kit oddly comes with 6 sets of different sized anchors but only 5 of each. I mean, who uses 5? They should let you pick the size you want and give you a bunch of those. I mostly bought this kit for the gun and will buy better anchors from the store. Really bummed and super annoyed. Update: Customer service reached out to see if they could change my opinion. They were super nice and professional. They sent me some new anchors (at no cost) and I tried them out. I still had the same issues with the anchors, but a couple of things changed for me. 1. The customer service really impressed me. 2. I recognized the anchors could be improved a bit by adding a slightly bigger washer. Either way, I bumped up my rating to a 3 star because the customer service was on point. They refunded me for the item and they didn’t have to do that. You don’t see companies stand behind their products like this anymore. Wow!

Molly screws provide a strong anchor In drywall and generally are superior to screw in wall anchors even the better metal ones. The problem is when you set the Molly screws you tap the rather sharp cleats into the wall setting it flush. This is supposed to anchor it so when you turn the screw It expands the arms of the Molly anchor behind the wallboard and provides a strong anchor. And there is often the problem. Many times I find when you tighten the screw the anchor turns in the hole and either rips loose or fails to tighten and expand properly. Then you have a real problem and end up with a bigger hole in the drywall too big to hold the Molly screw. So this device changes all of that. You use a hammer to set the Molly screw and then the tool pushes the Molly toward the wall as it pulls the strew outwards and expands the arms of the Molly screw. No twisting at all. It's wonderful and overcomes the design flaw of the Molly screw. Well worth the small cost and I highly recommend it. They give you a few of several sizes of Molly screws so be sure to order more of the sizes you need. But this is a great simple tool that really works.

Updated: the tool works well with the new batch of anchors that the seller sent me. The seller was very responsive and made an unhappy customer happy. The smaller anchors stripped out on me, but they shouldn’t really be used anyway. The anchors for 1/2 drywall are solid and I’ve trusted them to hold up some very heavy and very expensive gear.

Quality is great!!! I still use it with my bad hands with no problem.
