WASN’T A GOOD FIT
I used it for a short time before returning. I just didn’t like it. It wasn’t bad quality or anything. You know when something is just off?!?! You know that feeling and that was how I felt with it so I sent it back.

Second one mostly worked
The media could not be loaded. VGA is very old technology at this point, but if you have an old VGA monitor or projector that still meets your needs then it may be worthwhile to be able to connect modern HDMI sources to it. I have a Dell LCD VGA-only monitor that I got a good deal on in 2008, when VGA was entering into its decline. It's built pretty solidly and I'm in no great rush to spend the money to replace it. I was using a DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter for a while, and that's probably a technically superior solution, but HDMI has become the standard and my latest computers don't have DisplayPort built in.Please understand that your device will probably try to send the audio over HDMI, and the VGA conversion will strip that out. You can probably coax your computer into outputting the audio over its built-in speakers or headphone jack, but if you have some other kind of equipment like a DVD/Blu-ray player then that might not be an option. In that case, you would probably want a different (externally powered) adapter that can split that audio off to a headphone jack for you. The manufacturer also notes that this product will not work for devices with low-power HDMI ports. I don't know how to determine if a given device is low-power or not.I think I got a defective adapter the first time. I tried it with my Lenovo X1 Yoga and the best I could get was a brief flash of a discolored image, shown in the enclosed video. Tried it on a Dell Latitude 5420 and the colors were right but the image kept cutting in and out. But I got a replacement one and it seems to be working fine, so I'm going to assume it was a simple manufacturing defect. Still, a little sliver of the screen gets cut off and I can’t figure out how to fix that.

Simple plug and play
In an effort to add more screen space to my desk, I added a smaller monitor with VGA inputs. Since the desktop only had an HDMI available, I needed an adapter to make it work. The adapter is compact and solid. Easily tucking in behind the computer and delivered an immediate signal to the screen with no drivers or restarts required.
