What is the buckle on the back for?

My dad is 110 lbs. and 5’5”, what size would be best for him ?

I think I ordered a medium for my mom. She is 5’6” and 160+lbs. However, this sling requires the person being lifted to have some upper body strength and stability. We were not able to use it for very long with my mom. We ended up ordering a one piece full body support sling. If you need something with more support, search for “Vive patient lift sling”. It’s blue.

Why do the photos show the arms outside of the sling and the instructions for use state that the arms should be inside of the sling?

There is no room for the arms inside the sling. I use my arms to hold the leg straps because the back support varies among individuals and I would fall backwards if I didn't hold on. Overall, I am pleased with the sling because it can be removed after I am seated in the wheelchair.
