On mine (red), the plugin connection at the pad itself is not only secure, but very difficult to unplug on purpose, let alone on accident. The cord length from the wall plugin to the controller is more than twice the length from the controller to the pad. The always-on lighted display is a not-too-bright green which is so convenient for a quick check throughout the night. The controller is substantial enough that it stays upside-down on the mattress when you want it completely dark. The simplicity, layout and size of the buttons and the "remote" itself are very hand-friendly and drowsy-friendly.I have been using it post-surgery all week and the weight and extra-large size are perfect. Because of the fillers and fabric, it folds nicely in half or thirds without being crimped at all. I still have my 20yr-old reliable Sunbeam heating pad that I also fold in half sometimes, but always with fear that it will finally break. This one, however, is much more pliable and floppy and heavenally heavy. It also has enough weight to it when I just leave it flat.The cover is not removable, but the instructions say the entire unit (unplugged of course) is washable. I am Extremely sensitive to smells. I was so relieved to find that this has no odor or scent to speak of (similar to a new stuffed animal) so I will not be washing it unless I spill something on it.This baby gets Hot. I like everything Very Hot, especially when I'm in pain. A bath or hot pool isn't hot enough for me unless it makes my skin "lobster". I am very happy to report that the highest level (12) on this is too hot for me to use for more than 5 min without moving the pad. Right after surgery, when I was awake and shifting the pad slightly but frequently,10 was perfect. That night, after positioning it for the long haul, I kept it set at 8 for 2hr, restarting it whenever I got up to pee and take pain meds every 4 hrs. I absolutley love that you can set it from 1-24 hrs (1,2,4,6,8,10,12 or 24). This was the absolute best investment/purchase I could have made for my recovery from surgery!!The hot water bottle I also purchased but never needed to open will now be gifted to my family, because you can bet your boots they will never be allowed to borrow my weighted heating pad!!

This weighted heating pad is pretty great. Nice control (though it’s a bit bright in a dark room), evenly-dispersed weight, looong cord, and good size. It heats up very quickly, and though it goes much higher, haven’t used above the 4 setting! Which is the only concern I have about the safety if someone were to use the 24-hr timer (I only use 1-hr) and crank up the heat. I’d love to think a person would know better, but don’t trust that everyone give thought. If a product will let them do something potentially unsafe, they may very well do it without thinking twice. That’s really my only concern; although I do wish the cover was removable for washing. Otherwise very happy with this heating pad.

I will say, I do love this heating pad. It's soft with the perfect amount of weight, so it can hug around the curves. The only thing I wish I could change/fix, is the cord to the pad itself keeps falling out, forcing me to have to unplug from the outlet, plug back into pad, then put plug back into wall, and then to turn back on. When you're laying down, already comfortable from the heating pad, it becomes more and more frustrating having to deal with this.I haven't found a solution yet, but I'm hoping there is some kind of tape or something I can use to keep these together.

The best thing I could ever have bought

Very nice heating pad. I have only one issue. The plug between the cord and pad separates very easily. When that happens, you must unplug it from the wall and plug it back in. Just annoying when you're hurting.

I have bought 2 before and love them. Bought more of them works great I will only use this kind for my back
