Office Chair Cylinder Replacement with Gloves

Installed same day. Fit perfectly on my N-Gen chair. So far So good will update if any issues arrive but it's working. Worth the price.

Do not attempt this replacement if you are without at the very least average mechanical skills. You will need a hammer and a steel punch to extract the cylinder by punching it on both ends. It has tapered ends top and bottom. Don’t drop it on your foot and also, don’t forget the plastic dust covers . They are installed from the top . At my first use it does appear to be heavy duty .

It works great... I think. Its lowest setting though is higher than my old chairs highest setting. Its the tiniest bit too tall for me but not egregious. Fore reference I am using a normal office chair and I'm 6'.

I had an office chair from OfficeMax that was slowly bleeding down. This part fixed it. I did have to resort to some tools many homeowners won’t have. I had to use a big pipe wrench to get the top loose from the seat mount and a big hammer to drive the cylinder out of the base. Price is great! High quality! Arrived quickly and well packaged. Everything fit perfectly and installation was easy. The cylinder is very tall—even at the lowest setting it sits high, and fully extended it’s quite elevated. It supports my 120 kg without any issues so far. Just installed, will see how it holds up over time.

I had an office chair whose cylinder was failing. It was much cheaper and less time consuming to get this replacement cylinder instead of trying to find a new chair to buy. Getting the old cylinder out was a bit difficult but installing this replacement cylinder was very easy.

I really like my office chair but after about 8 yrs it began just letting air out and I would constantly have to adjust it to the correct height. Thought about replacing the chair but I saw a Youtube video on how to replace the cylinder so I gave it a try. It is a little hard to get the old one out but once you do the new one goes in very easily. You may need a large Channel-lock or pipe wrench to remove it (I did). Just like a brand new chair !

Followed the instructions provided under the product specifications and easily replaced the component. Works perfectly fine and better than the existing one i had in the chair. Highly recommend if you are looking to buy.

Hola, he comprado este cilindro para una silla que compre y me llego sin cilindro, ya puse este cilindro y no se si no le quedo o lo estoy instalando mal pero no hace la elevacion. Le mando fotos para que me indique si estoy haciendo algo mal o es que no es de la medida para la silla. (Creo que debo quitarle ese como tapon verde pero no quiero hacerlo sin estar segura).

Arrived with no instructions - I googled it to find out how to remove old cylinder and installed this new one....ended up with a chair that does not adjust in height or bounces a bit for a soft landing. At least it does not shrink down when I'm working on it. I bought a more expensive version so I was hoping for better. At least it swivels and is set a height I can use - and the white trim matches the chair. Disappointed with Staples for selling me a chair that had a hydraulic that wore out within a year and not impressed with the replacement I purchased here for more money.
