Sometimes the Snow Falls in June: A Poets Journey thru Grief and Loss: 1 (Zelly's Writings)

Honest, raw, insightful, genius!
It is winter, in Covid 2020, and I had the privilege of reading this book for my first time aloud to Zelly, the author. Not the entire book but the first five or so 'writings'. I'd read enough to be moved to uncontrollable tears and so I stopped. The Zelly I know shares an enviable gift of seeing the humor in just about anything and everything while remaining compassionate and sympathetic. Her sarcastic wit is unparalleled. Anyway, I had to stop and ask if this is one of those books that I should just go to the last pages first and be assured of a happy ending? She quipped, "There's a happy page in the book.... called 'What a Difference a Day Makes'." I went to the entry on pg.39 and read it for relief. It was a happy text suitable for a devotional entry in any 12 Step recovery book.I'm thinking, THIS book is GENIUS! Throbbing with visual images of pain, it spilled over with so much raw truthI could barely stand it.However, I felt safe and understood. I could visualize my own struggles and see them put into words that I simply wouldn't have without Zelly's masterful insight and honesty.I want to see THIS BOOK on OPRAH'S FAVORITE BOOK LIST.I want to see Zelly recognized for this contribution to the world. I hope you will read this and use this book as an invaluable tool for learning to accept, embrace and release your own pain or empathizing with others. I believe this journal of sorrow could open long closed windows and doors, hearts and minds for healing and growth.
