Works with the Galaxy S23 Ultra
I had to remove the phone's cover otherwise there is slight vignette around the edges. Even so it just makes the edges so is really key to placing it correctly. This is not something you will just quickly whip on and off for a single shot. But placed just right, and having a good backlight behind the negatives, I can see quite a difference in improved clarity for 35mm negatives.

Not compatible with iPhone 13 Pro Max
Wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased this. It does not work with several phones apparently. It can only focus at a distance of 15 to 25mm - can't get the full 35mm slide in the picture.

I think the zoom on my iPhone 12 is adequate.
I think the zoom on my iPhone 12 is adequate. Did not see much improvement though using real old black and white prints so may not have been a fair test.

Makes scanning slides and negatives an easy task
This handy macro lense gadget makes scanning old negatives and slides an easy task. Used with a white backlit surface you can process dozens of old slides. The auto focus on my iPhone 13 adapts quickly to capture the image and the Photomyme software produces a very good digital image.

Disappointed
Results were disappointing using this lens with an iPhone 14. Slides and negatives were out of focus and it couldn't allow scan of a full 35 mm slide or negative let alone larger format film. I used the Photomyne backlight and the macro lens mode and Photomyne apps and nothing was a good as simply using the phone's own camera app. With the lens attached it blocks the phone's camera for face recognition and also covers the 'done' button on the app. After spending a couple hours trying to make it work I give up.

Great Tool for Photo Scanning!
This lens made a huge improvement in the quality of my scans from negatives. Much better definition. I wish I had used it from the beginning of my project! I have over a thousand scans so far, so I’m not going to rescan all of them, but maybe some of my favorites!

Don’t recommend the macro lens or lite pad
Photomyne is a clever service and technology, but I don’t recommend buying their macro lens and lite pad, which I purchased as a bundle for $69. Using my iPhone 12 pro, scans are only clear in the center — see the attached jpg. I suspect the lens shield picks up light from the lite pad. Photomyne’s customer service suggested I take off the macro lens and see if I liked the outcome. Good grief. The advice from customer service is below.Sunday, 09:21pmMe to PhotomyneI am very unhappy with the results I am getting from my scans. I have the macro lens and light pad, and I just signed up for two years of Photomyne. I am using an iPhone 12 pro.The scans are sharp and clear only in the center. I have taken the iPhone case off and tried multiple different lens positions. I have moved the light pad to different rooms with different levels of surrounding light. Can you help? Please see the attached examples.Monday, 2:58amPhotomyne to meHey there! Thanks for getting in touch.Try to keep the room as dark as possible with only the backlight as a source of light. Also, try not to have the phone directly facing the image.Hold the image 2 inches (5 cm) away from the computer screen so that there is no transfer onto the scan and the camera 4 inches (10cm) away from the slide.Check out this link for best scanning tips. For better results, you can purchase the macro lens - click here - and the light pad - click here.If you use an iPhone 13 Pro or purchased the macro lens on Amazon:You can hold the device closer to the slide. Make sure, the image is still in focus. If it gets blurry, try to move slightly back and forth until it gets back in focusPlease try again and let me know how it goes.Monday, 9:18amMe to PhotomyneThis is not helpful. You have sent me a canned reply. Did you read my email?I am using your macro lens and your light pad. The slide is on the light pad. The camera is touching the slide. The phone is an iPhone 12 Pro.Did you look at the pictures I sent?Monday 10:09amPhotomyne to meI did read you previous email. I sent you general advice on how to avoid glare and blurriness while using our app SlideScan - which is what you have. Please note that with some mobile devices, the lens is a bit bigger and with the addition of the macro lens the borders get a bit blurry. Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.Monday 10:41amMe to PhotomyneThe problem is a white circular haze around each image — the macro lens seems to be picking up reflected light from the lens shield. It could be a defect in the lens. I am using your light pad in a dimly lit room.Monday, 10:43amPhotomyne to meAs I said before, most probably it has to do with the addition of a macro lens on a large camera that creates this haze.Maybe try to remove the lens and see if you are satisfied with the outcome.
