I needed to replace the lost 45rpm adapter that came with my vintage Thorens TD 146 turntable, so I did research and decided on the Breakaway Records stainless steel adapter. This adapter is a masterpiece of machining. It fits the German-machined steel spindle on the Thorens with microscopic precision. It fits the 45rpm records equally well. There is zero "wiggle" anywhere on the turntable.The semi-conical shape of the adapter works really well with many brands of 45rpm records from my collection. Out of about twenty discs tested, none has had any issue with incorrect fit. The stainless steel is so smoothly machined that the records seat themselves with only a light tap of the fingers. Records come off the adapter just as easily.If you're really serious about making your 45's sound as good as they possibly can, then don't bother with molded plastic adapters. Only metal can be machined to the tight tolerances offered by an adapter like this one. There appear to be many fine adapters available on Amazon, some of which cost much more than this. However, I do not think you can find an adapter any better than this one. It is an audiophile/studio grade product. I will probably buy another one as a backup.UPDATE: I have been using this adapter for a month and I want to add something: It is heavy enough to make a good center weight for playing 33⅓ LP's. I use a Canadian made (and, sadly, no longer available) silicone Music Mat that grips the records so well that a heavy center weight or clamp is not necessary.... even counter-productive. This adapter is just right for adding a little more weight to the center, providing just a little more damping in the one place that might be prone to resonate. An unexpected bonus from an already great product!!!

Until you hold this beauty you can't appreciate it. It's HEAVY and SOLID! Sheen of its flawless shiny stainless steel is a joy to behold. Fits a Denon DP-47F turntable perfectly. Phenomenal machining - the chamfering (exquisitely executed) lets singles slide on and off easily. Haven't found a 45 that didn't work so far. I guess you could stack 2 or more singles but that's not something I do. When removing a record, adaptor stays put unlike with those lightweight plastic ones. Lets you swap swingles quickly. No more buying those flimsy snap-in plastic adaptors that leave spindle marks on your discs (reducing their value.) Enhances the look of your turntable and the overall experience of playing 45's. A real pleasure!

This 45 adaptor is beautiful! It almost perfectly matches our Transcriptors Transcriber turntable and completes its looks.The only thing that could make it 100% perfect is if it were gold plated on top to match the turntable weights. This product is heavy and works as GREAT as it looks. It is worth every penny of the price and I'm almost ready to buy another just in case ours ever gets lost. You will NOT be disappointed in this product!

These adapters work well with my 45s. They slip on and off the center spindle easy. I wish they were just a little bit cheaper but I suppose I'm paying a bit for the shipping since these are hefty, not cheap lightweight aluminum that I suspected some of the other adapters were made of. These will stand the test of time. Sometimes the records are a little bit more difficult to take off of this versus the standard Technics 45 adapters, but the records slide on easier so it is a trade-off.

A super high quality and well manufactured adapter. If you’re looking for a heavier adapter that your 45’s can slide over and not move, this is a great option. It is also helpful in reducing the wobble of any of the warped 33’s you might have. Nothing bad to say - a well engineered and good looking adapter!

The good folks at U-Turn Audio recommended this adapter for 45s. It was a great suggestion.It's a heavy, metal piece that fits nicely and has a really great center of mass. The weight is perfect for the inertia of my acrylic platter.I wouldn't waste my time on plastic adapters in bulk or with any others. Get this one. You'll be satisfied.

I like the solid weight of it. It's pleasing aesthetician matches the color of my technics and the vinyl easily slides over it. I could have bought a cheaper one, but I love shiny stuff.

Nice and heavy. Does exactly what it is supposed to do! The LAST adapter I will EVER have to purchase again!
