I purchased two of these filters (as I do each season) for my pond pump as a pre-filter. They are the recommended pre-filter for the Danner pump I own. When I received the pre-filters this year, I could tell something was different. The sponges felt stiffer, the cells of the sponge looked larger, and overall, it just felt somehow 'different'. I soon figured out what the issue was. After only 5 or 6 weeks, the sponges rapidly began degrading and falling apart when I cleaned them. Of course, this time period was beyond the warranty/return period for Amazon (even though I have been a Prime member since the inception of Prime). Fortunately, I saved the packaging and, by carefully examining it, was able to determine that these foam pre-filters were not genuine Danner products. They were a cheap knockoff (no doubt from some Chinese sweatshop). I ended up buying two genuine Danner pre-filters from an Amazon competitor and they are the genuine item. I will never buy this item from Amazon again because I cannot trust that a piece of foam worth 10 cents that cost me North of $13 is the genuine article. Please do NOT waste your money.

Was delivered in a timely manner and product was exactly as described. Correct size, etc. Have ordered these in the past for my Pondmaster pumps through Amazon and will continue to do so because of the excellent product and service received by Amazon and the parties who sell through Amazon. The most important tip I can give to those who order Pondmaster Danner foam pre-filters is find out what size pre-filter your pumps require prior to ordering as there are larger and smaller size pre-filters. My Pondmaster pumps are 1200 and 950 GPH which require the (bigger) Danner foam pre-filter Item# 12730.

What happened to these filters?After only a couple weeks, the sponges began to get thin and limp. I ended up having to clean the filter every day because they collapsed!

This pre-filter was suppose to work with my 1200 gph pump, but it did not. The seller was extremely nice about helping me try to make it work, but I could not get it on my pump.
