I used it for the first time today and I absolutely loved it. I’m new to barbell squatting and with this pad I didn’t feel any pain and I didn’t have to adjust it once it was on. Great buy 5/5

I recently purchased this barbell pad in order to add the hip thrust to my exercise program. I wanted a commercial quality product that would last for years to come and the Dark Iron Fitness product fits that bill. It is top notch quality and offers a lifetime warranty. When properly fastened to my Olympic Bar it will not slide or freely rotate, but securely remain in place, despite the fact that my Olympic Bar does not have a center knurl. It offers firm, yet comfortable padding.I will work great for squats as well, for those who place the bar high up across their traps (high bar squats). I would not use it, if you, like me, do low bar squats, as the pad cause the shoulder angle to be extremely uncomfortable. FYI, in the high bar squat the bar is positioned to sit on the traps, in the low bar squat the bar is moved down to sit on the rear deltoids, right above the spine of the scapula.

The qaulity is great given the cost. Fits tightly on the bar and doesn't shift around. It's too hard though once you get up to heavier weight.

I got the “All-black” model, which is what you see in all of the product images, except the first one. It’s black, leather, and has a small Dark Iron logo over the VelcroIt looks and feels great, and def provides comfort HOWEVER IT IS NOT 17” LONG, as the title says.I’ve now realized that this model, as well as maybe the “Dark Iron” model with the big logo are both only 14-15” long.The 17” in the title refers to the other types, such as the “shut up and squat”, so KEEP THIS IN MINDThe way to tell is by looking at the product/package dimensions—-it should be 17” or more.But it still looks good and does what I need it to do—-easily supports a loaded bar for seated calf raises, so it’s alright. Not worth the hassle of returningAlso I think the other models aren’t leather, so I’ll keep this
