Review: Great Colors - I purchased the layering colors and I have swatched them and I am very pleased. I love the colors but I haven’t used them in any artwork yet. The packaging is very nice and the inclusion of a sample of ox gall is helpful although I haven’t used it yet. I’m looking forward to trying it. In general I have been pleased with Paul Ruben’s paints that I have been using for many years now. I believe that Ruben’s was my first quality watercolor palette over 45 years ago. When I poured them I did not experience any separation and they handled nicely. It’s always fun to see a new selection of Paul Ruben’s watercolors :).

I purchased the layering colors and I have swatched them and I am very pleased. I love the colors but I haven’t used them in any artwork yet. Good for monochrome chineese style drawing especially landscapes or mixed media. Too dark to use for layering.
