The Quartermaster: explosive fast moving thriller (Jack and Amanda Thriller Series Book 1)

Good start to the series.
I enjoyed this book enough to buy the second and continue with the series. Good to read about a different kind of hero/heroine, that is not just blow ‘em all up and gets shot fifty times to jump back up and shoot all the bad guys single handedly. It is verging on a financial thriller, with a cleverly interwoven plot and none the worse for that.I like to give a fair review and so have to say two things in balance, that I did think at times that the plot was a little too coincidental and jumped a little and the editor needs to take a slightly tighter hand. Secondly, that I like cars to have names and models in a thriller, not just a German saloon or powerful car. Overall though a very good read.

Thrilling conclusion.
After a strong Prologue for me the pace really slowed for the first part of the book, but this was in keeping with the slow pace of life in the area in which most of the book is set. It then sped up and faced to a nail biting conclusion.

Bit disjointed.
Didn't flow as much as I would have liked. Story jumped about a bit. But slow in places and too many names to keep track of.

Not impressed.
To be honest the only reason I bought the book was because it was on Kindle for 99p. The description in the reasons to buy & read it sounded like my type of book. Regrettably I didn’t enjoy it. The characters, in my opinion, are boring & the plot took too long to unravel. Others may enjoy it, but unfortunately not for me. Sorry !!

Meandering
A police and spy drama rolled into one, did not mean for a five but a 3 star award. It takes a long meandering way for the flimsy plot is unfolded. If it had been alittle less flowered out I may have been tempted to read more in the series. Sorry about the star award.

Good easy read.
Plot had a few twist and turns with a couple of surprises. End, though all was reveled did leave you feeling/wanting something else.

Excellent read
Right from the start this book grips you, I couldn't put it down. Loved it from start to finish. I have downloaded the next instalment The Parthian Shot to see what's next for Jack and Amanda.
