Not too bad.
I cannot speak about the accuracy of the skydiving as depicted in this film. However, I found this film to be entertaining enough. Certainly not great, but OK. Sort of.I don't really know anything about skydiving, and I confess, my curiosity did not burn with the intensity of a thousand suns to learn more about it. But, with that said, I still found this film to be pretty interesting. The skydiving shots were stunning, and I was pretty impressed by that aspect of this movie. The idea of "cutaway" (whatever that means) sounded contrived. I have no idea how valid or authentic the concept of "cutting away" (severing all outside ties) is in the skydiving world, but it seemed phony and forced in this movie. I tired of hearing the characters mention "cutting away" this or that. However, I kept watching. I did find some interest in the conflict between Stephen Baldwin's character (an undercover officer), his "boss" (Ron Silver) and the guy Baldwin is supposed to take down -- "Red Line" (played by Tom Berenger). I could see how Vic (played by Baldwin) could get caught up in the skydiving scene. It was all about teamwork, competition, and it looked pretty fun to me! And I could see why he'd enjoy working with "Red Line" (Berenger). Red Line was the best at what he did -- he was totally dedicated to skydiving and would do anything (ANYTHING) to keep the team going. I could see why Vic would be sympathetic to Red Line's motivations, even if his actions sometimes were fatally flawed. So, the conflict between the main characters worked -- sort of. The acting was decent. I have never considered Stephen Baldwin to be that great of an actor, but he was fine. Ron Silver did well playing Baldwin's intense boss who had a somewhat oily personality. Tom Berenger was very good as the likeable and dedicated Red Line who just didn't know that there were certain lines that shouldn't be crossed. So that was interesting: the "good guy" (Silver) wasn't as likeable as the "bad guy" (Berenger). I thought this was an interesting twist in the story. So, overall, I thought it was OK. Not *that* great, certainly not perfect, but not all *that* bad. The footage of the skydiving made up for a lot.

Very entertaining...
I liked it, I never did an 8-way speed star, but was on a few 10-ways. It must have been 2013 or 2014 Couch Freaks I was on the winning 10-way speed star team. Of course there were only two teams and we only won because the other team sucked more than we did. I think our time was just over 30 seconds.I liked the scenes at the beginning of the "Nationals" that were in reality shot over the World Free Fall Convention. A nice reminder of the most fun days of my life that's for sure. The movie doesn't really depict the sport all that accurately but it's not so far off. It's one of those movies I could watch again, once every few years anyway. If you're a skydiver, you definitely will probably like it... if you're not a skydiver... what's wrong with you??? You need to get out and learn how to live;-) Cut away!MKD-19372

Better than expected
It's a B movie and with not a particulary high budget, but still it's a fun movie and excellent for skydiving enthusiasts. Although it has some impossible feats that we could talk about fantasy, they add fun and spectacularity to the movie, that looks like it was its main purpose.Anyway there are a lot of skydinving scenes, more than any other movie that I've seen.Again, do not expect a "good" movie, it's a fun movie and evidently a must see for skydivers and enthusiasts.

Typical "The Guy Gets The Girl" with a twist
One of the better low budget films I've seen. Somehow the real plot is lost in the story, but it gets its' point across. I'm sure Rodman gave a special, limited addition, autographed copy to Kim Jong-un for his DVD library

A skydiving movie where nobody messes up someone else's parachute!
It was exciting! I rooted for the "bad guys" because they were very likable. Nothing new in the plot. The ending was sort of blunt.

Not as bad as it sounds
So yes, there's some less than Oscar-award-winning acting and there are plot holes a-plenty, but if you focus on that, you're not going to enjoy it. Watch it for the sky-diving shots where many of the actors (most?) actually have sky diving experience. Watch it for Dennis Rodman trying to emote on camera (or Stephen Baldwin for that matter). And really, watch it for Marcos Ferraez looking adorable with a goatee.

It's not Point Break but...
...it's a pretty good flick with Stephen Baldwin and my always favorite Tom Berenger. This one had some breath taking jump scenes plus a hokie ending. What else could one ask for. Ron Silver shines as always.

A bit dated.
Skydiving is Skydiving. At this point the movie is a bit dated. A new generation of Skydivers are out there and equipment has changed as well as expectations.

I’m a skydiver for twenty plus years and I’ve never heard any skydiver talk or act like that. That being said it was a all right movie but not good. I would do a cutaway with this movie

A load of fun
As a skydiver, I just loved this movie. Sure, it's got the usual stuff (a la Dropzone) of someone going from whuffo to amazing skydiver in a completely unbelievable amount of time but, hey, it's a movie, you suspend disbelief :-)The plot is a bit thin and a bit Point Break-ish, but not without its moments, especially the emotional conflict - undercover agent goes in and gets seduced by the lifestyle of the people he's tracking and gets to like them. Then it's time to do his job... What really made the movie for me was the skydiving sequences though - there are a lot of them and they are really fun to watch.
