Perfect Villain : A Dark Mafia Romance (Dark Lies Book 1)

4-stars: 'Perfect Villain' by J.L. Beck & S. Rena
I was looking for new books to read and new authors to try and decided to pick up Perfect Villain by J.L. Beck and Sade Rena in Kindle Unlimited. Iām glad I did because now Iām onto the second book in the Dark Lies Duet. I had a hard time putting down this Dark Mafia Romance that has a Stalker MMC in it.Storyline/My Thoughts: I havenāt read many stalker romances, and Iām still relatively new to the Dark Romance genre. It has become my new obsession, and I canāt get enough of this genre. This genre wasnāt for me in my twenties, but now, in my late thirties (almost pushing fortyā¦ahem), I canāt get enough of them. I had a feeling; eventually, I would love this genre. I did grow up watching Godfather and Scarface at a young age, thanks to my father. Things that a normal under the age of ten little girls typically shouldnāt watch, but I was never a normal kid. I loved Mafia movies and what they portrayed in them. My husband is also obsessed with them, and he even watches documentaries on mafia families. It was evitable that I would read Dark Romances with Mafia in them. Now, Iām going to say this for any reader that likes to judge readers for what they read. Just because I like these books doesnāt mean I condone the crap in real life, such as what the MMC Christian Russo was doing to the FMC, SiĆ¢n, in this book. No, would I condone a narcissistic sadist stalking me in the dark and forcing himself on me. I would drop-kick his butt in a heartbeat or call in my Italian Mastiff to take care of the threat.Although the way J.L. Beck and Sade Rena wrote Christian, I may have fallen for this deranged messed up MMC. I love the characters that are messed up in some way, and Christian Russo is beyond saving. He is the son of a Mob Boss in Italy, and his father always calls him to take care of things in a way that involves torturing or unaliving someone. Christian is the enemy of the FMC, SiĆ¢n. His father called in the hit for SiĆ¢nās family years ago, and at ten years old, she goes on the run with her caregiver to escape the Russo family and run away from her long-time stalker.Christian was promised he would marry SiĆ¢n years ago and is determined to have her, even after all these years. He has been keeping tabs on her and now is ready to collect. His father believes that SiĆ¢n perished with her parents in a fire years ago, but Christian has kept the secret because he doesnāt want his father to harm Sian.SiĆ¢n, unfortunately, has no clue the guy at the bar she meets one night with her friend Kyla is her long-term stalker. Now, I loved Christian even with his crazy sadistic ways, but when it came to SiĆ¢n, she drove me crazy. Iām not a fan of a naive FMC, and that is precisely what SiĆ¢n is in this book. I was constantly questioning her, and I wish I could have gone through the book and talked to her personally, especially regarding her a-hole boyfriend and bitch of a best friend. There was also the issue of SiĆ¢n fantasizing over Christian when she was technically still with her a-hole boyfriend, Taj. Girl, dump his butt! That was what I kept saying to SiĆ¢n when reading her POV in the book. The way she described Taj and how he treated her. He was not the one for her.Christian isnāt any better, but that is because he is secretly stalking her, but at least he is protective of her in his selfish way. The man has issues, but I think I previously stated that in my review. He is the main reason why I am giving the book four stars. He won me over in this book, even if he was a crazystalker. There wasnāt much regarding Mafia in this book, except it being mentioned and Christianās father calling him to return home to Italy. Readers will see Christian in his element of torturing and possibly unaliving a few people. Some of it is due to SiĆ¢n.The chemistry between SiĆ¢n and Christian has two different sides. You have the Christian that puts himself in SiĆ¢nās life and wants her to open up more and try things. Get out of being safe, especially in the bedroom. He opens her up and even has her dirty talking back to him. This is when I saw another side of SiĆ¢n, and I actually liked her opening up and becoming more outspoken. Then, you have the stalkerish Christian who literally puts SiĆ¢n on her knees and forces her onto him. If you are not into reading scenes involving assault and being forced, this particular scene may bother you.Forewarning, this is a duet, so there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book. Thankfully the second book is already out, and you can pick it up via Kindle Unlimited if you have that subscription. I did happen to have gotten Perfect Villain through KU, but I also picked up the Audiobook from Audible. I like listening to the book if I cannot read it, especially if I have to catalog over 1000+ books in my library at home. Iām glad I didnāt have to wait several months for the next book because I would have gone crazy myself. Unlike Christian, I would patiently count the days for Christian and SiĆ¢nās continuing story. I wouldnāt do the unthinkable things he did in this book to win over the girl. I need to know what happens next to these two and how SiĆ¢n will handle the truth of who Christian really is to her.Iām thankful I have found two new authors to add to my auto-buy lists. My library is already way too extensive, per my husband, but you can never have enough physical and kindle books.Standalone or Part of Series: Itās part of the Dark Lies Duet and I recommend reading in order.Trope(s)/Element(s)/Trigger(s): Mafia Romance. Stalker Romance. MMC is Mob Bossās Son. FMCās family was unalived when she was ten by MMCās father. Arranged Marriage Originally. Choking. Praise/Degradation. Spitting in Mouth. MMC is very protective of FMC, even when he is stalking her. Forced Sodomy/Assault on FMC. Narcissistic and Sadist MMC. Graphic Torture/Unaliving by MMC.Would I recommend this book? Yes. If you enjoy Dark Mafia Romance with the following elements: MMC Stalker/Unaliver and FMC College Student on the run from her Stalker for years, then this duet is for you. There are potential triggers in this book that may bother some readers. I have some listed in my review. The authors may have them listed on their websites, too.

really more like 3.75 but the vast majority of the book I loved.
Sian has been ruminating for years, using aliases and not staying in one place for too long. But she is now at a point where she feels like she can x settle down as she finishes college. Christian was promised that he would wed Sian in Italy and he been obsessed with her ever since. After her family is killed she disappears and he does not stop searching for her. He stalks her and enjoyed messing with her. But now it is time to make her his.I really am a sucker for a stalker romance. But it has to be done really well. I loved the first 90% of this book. But then the ending happened, (I understand it had to have a big conflict to jumpstart book 2) I feel like it showcased how dumb our main character has been and how naive she is even though she has been running for years and has never taken a chance before. It kind of burst my bubble and I canāt get over it.

He really is a Perfect Villain!
I loved the level of Sociopath we got here, the title perfectly sums him up. Storyline-wise, I was a little confused at the beginning, about their history, but eventually figured things out. Towards the end, things were fairly predictable for the cliffhanger, but Christian's antics kept me entertained, and I'm excited to jump right into book 2.

Perfect Villain.
I love a good stalker romance, and this one hit all the right parts. The way he lures her into his worldā¦angsty and possessive yumminess.I listened to this book and I enjoyed it, but the voices threw me off when reading the others parts.Check TW. 18+ 4.5/stars overall.

A book of lies and secerts
this book has a lot of suspense in it with Christian and Sina these two have secrets that they are both hiding that the other one doesn't want the other to know. Sina is a girl that has been on the run for most of her life just looking for a piece of freedom. she thinks she will never have that is until she meets Christian. Christian is a guy that has been looking for Sian for so many years and when he finely finds her, he has decided that he will never let her go. Sian has finally found a little bit of piece the only problem is that she is starting to get messages from a stalker she just doesn't' know that her stalker is closer than she could among that is closer. This book si a great book about suspense and lies, but at the end otf this book you wanting more from these two so you will have to read the next one in the series.

āHeās the villain in every single fairy tale ever toldā
Christian Russo is obsessed with SiĆ¢n Giuliani and has been following her for years. They have a violent history and he manipulates his way into her heart.I generally like it when the FMC is a virgin which is not the case for Sian. Even the scene when Christian is in the bathroom while her boyfriend Taj and her are intimate is unrealistic for a J/P kind of MMC. I prefer a more innocent FMC and would have preferred she not sleep with anyone after meeting Christian.1st half is boring where Christian is just scaring Sian into needing him for protection. The ending is when it gets better but too much of the book is uninteresting. When we finally got some steamy scenes they were š„One thing I did like was the mix of Italian thrown in ā¤ļø

Creepy Christian
This is a hot dark stalker mafia story and I loved it. Christian constantly trying to keep his inner Beast under control so he can keep the woman he loves close while alienating her friends with a little murder here and there. It was deliciously deceiving and fast paced right to the god damn cliffhanger!! Needless to say I've had to preorder the 2nd book. That's the only complaint about this book, cliffhangers I hate them. Great book. Very exciting š

Perfect villain
I've read many of jl beck books. This surprised me as i found it slower to get into, and got interesting at the end. It isn't as dark as i would expect from this author and i love jl books. Although i have pre ordered the 2nd book so will follow it through.
