Great value
Works better then my name brand did. Easy to open. Easy hook up. I highly recommend this product. Look no further buy it. The vendor is great shipped well and arrived on time.

Initial impression: better lid & better construction than Hayward. Opened/closed easily!
OK, so the pool came with a Hayward, which worked OK for years. I then replaced it with another Hayward, which was terrible from day one. Dial didn't want to go all the way from "off" to "full." Lid NEVER went on smoothly. Had to replace the o-ring multiple times almost every year because it would get pinched. Needed to use pliers to get it off last summer--and pliers didn't work this spring! This one arrived today. Opened and closed smoothly. Not leaking without overtightening! Came with teflon tape. This unit is a single-piece base (Hayward's was 2 pieces, and would slip off if you picked up the unit.) Install was the same as the Hayward. The only two things I can comment on that may not be positive is the lid opens/closes strangely. (I'm not going to call it an issue--just different than Hayward's.) Also, Hayward puts a "click-stop" notch to make sure you tighten it enough...not that it actually stopped you from turning it tighter. This one doesn't have that, though it was tight enough to prevent it from leaking--without effort! I'll change the post if it degrades over the summer. However, this was a great UPGRADE over the brand-name.

is great
I have one now and has been great for 5 years. i would say it is just as good as other brands at its task. I have to say any chlorinator will harm ther pool heater. i tried everything and eventually after sitting idle the water and chemical will leach to the equipment AKA pool heater and pump. Not as quickly mind you as the inline units but it will migrate. I even replace the check valve once and it still leaches out Could be that debris that is unfiltered from the pump/ chlorinator inlet hold the check valve open some but let it be known my experience. Lost heater after 2 years of summer use (perforated) heat exchanger. I don't consider this a fault of this particular item. We are handling very strong chemicals

One star for now, I'll update once I get a replacement!
Bought this to replace my Hayward chlorinator at a cheaper price, wrong idea... Was beginning to hand tighten this inlet adapter and completely sheared off. Can't even get the male thread out unfortunately. Tried to do a "replacement" and Amazon said I couldn't do it. So I'm doing a return and bought another one to replace, what a hassle. I'll update as needed, but compared to my Hayward, this doesn't come close as of now... Very disappointed

Very Good (and cheaper) Replacement over the Hayward Unit
At almost 1/2 the cost of the real Hayward units, these work just as good. I bought this one after our previous one (also the same non-Hayward variety) became 'locked' - I couldn't remove the top. I eventually got the top off, so now I have a spare. Our filter stopped working properly while we were on vacation, so I think the concentrated chlorine caused the lubricant on the O-ring to solidify and prevented the top from turning. I don't blame the chlorinator for this. I got it cleaned up and bought some new lubricant for next time. I would definitely recommend this unit as a replacement for the Hayward unit.

VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!
I am female and had no problems setting this up correctly. You have to make sure the proper piece goes in the inlet/outlet by following the directions. Also hook up to your pump correctly and everything will work fine. Quality seems just as good as my Hayward which I've had to replace several times already.

Leaked after 1 year
Purchased in May of 2023. Started leaking from the main body of the unit, not from any of the connections, in June 2024. Feel like it is defective to leak like that after only one year. Obviously the seams on the unit are poor quality. I paid $80 which is certainly not the cheapest I could have gotten. My original chlorinator (different brand) lasted about 10-12 years.

Automatic Pool Chlorinator
All-in-all, my new chlorinator works well. When I received it, one of the caps had been cross-threaded, but with a little love and teflon tape, I was able to make it work. Assembling onto the filter lines is not real easy. Think everything through before you drill your holes. Now that it's up and working, I love it, but still an occasional drip around the clamps.

Easy install
Installation was simple and no leaks! Holds about 20 pucks, good for at least a month.

same as Hayward
Works like a Hayward, but with a better lid system and lower price. Replaced a 3 year old hayward that was failing. Edit: Watch out for these guys increasing prices randomly. $80 one day $98 the next. dropping this product to 3 stars at the new price

A little lacking in the detailed finishing
Needed to use a lot more Teflon tape than I expected to ensure leak free connections. Drain plug could not be sealed as threads would not tighten sufficiently. Ended up using epoxy as it is not required for offline set up anyway. We'll see how it works over the summer.

Haven't had any issues yet
Way cheaper than hayward, haven't had any leaks yet. Pump's putting out about 12-16psi depending on how dirty the sand filter is. Also have the inlet pipe connected to a tee on the sand filter pressure gauge port
