What a classic 'I Wrote...' is! 'Without a Song' is a great, soulful blues tale. Awesome vocals on it.BUT THE STANDOUT IS, AND THE REASON I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS FOR AGES IS THIS CUT - 'MY COUNTRY TIS OF THEE'.This rendition is so heartfelt... so rich with meaning... so emotive... it makes you truly PROUD to be an American.I am black - and there are plenty of reasons why I could have some serious issues with this country for what it has done in the past.But this song, handled with such raw emotion and depth of feeling by a fellow black citizen of our shared land brings tears to my eyes.Any American who listens to this piece, this version, will too. It rivals Ray Charles 'America the beautiful'.

I was very pleased to receive the 2 CDs by Billy Preston. I am a fan of all of his music, but I was particularly drawn to the cd "Music Is My Life." When I heard the title song in the 70's, I knew he was speaking for me as well. Unfortunately, I lost my album- vinyl copy. (lol) I was devastated. I tried for many years to locate a copy, but they were being sold for $40 and above. However, I recently searched for it on Amazon, and bam, there it was...reasonably priced (2 CDs) and converted to a cd. It has made me so happy to listen to Billy Preston again, especially Music Is My Life !

He was in a league of his own
This album took me back to my college days when Billy Preston's music dominated my stereo. It's great he was able to use his considerable talents to enhance not just his, but other great artists' albums. Billy was among the greatest keyboardists ever. Thank you, Billy, for the great memories.

You need this One.
If you are a Billy Preston fan this must be among your collection. It has the music and composistion that made him recognizeable as an artiste. I heard Brother Ray and his kind of phrasing in Billy's music. I love "God is Great" but hasten to say that the entire cd is a must buy.

I Wrote a Simple Song/Music Is My Life
I loved this album and are very happy that it was made available again for purchase! You must like Billy Preston in order to appreciate his style of music. I remember dancing to this album when I was twelve years old and now I am in my early fifies. Thanks for the memory!

Still going round in circles with CD spinning!
Nice double CD album, got all the songs that i wanted and also glad that I’ve finally added Billy Preston in my CD collection. (Yes, I’m still enjoying CDs and LPs in 2021!!!)Worth mentioning the speedy delivery and no cracks on the case, i.e. delivered in mint condition!

Was soll man hier nun schreiben? Es sind zwei absolut hörens- und empfehlenswerte CD's mit Musik von Billy Preston, wie's besser nicht geht. Er war eben ein echtes Genie an Tasteninstrumenten, ein Naturtalent an der HAMMOND-Orgel und ein echter Stimmungsmacher. Von meiner Seite volle Punktzahl!
