Haven't had any issues with it overheating, and I have taken it on several 4 hours trips blasting most of the way. I had to go with a low profile, compact version for my work truck. I turned all the dials to max and provides a really good thump. Downside to that is it will fault protect quicker at higher volumes. At nominal listening levels it hasnt fault protected on me yet. I did have it fault protect in about an hour when the volume is rather high. Keep in mind Im listening to hard rock/metal, song after song so the amp isnt getting much reprieve to cool down. Additional cooling may solve this problem, although i havent tried to confirm. Dont let that dissuade you though. Still a quality product for the price.
