boeray 6W 0.5 GPM Whole House Water Clean System with 2 pcs Lamp,1 pcs Quartz Sleeve 1 pcs Electronic Ballast

I purchased the Boeray UV Light Water Sterilizer for my RO system. When it arrived it was packaged very well, a box within a box, the inner box was well protected, with corrugated cardboard tubes for the bulbs and quartz tube. The ballast was in a separate box within the main box. Very tightly and securely packaged, it even has tamper-resistant tags to show if the box had been opened previously.The instructions are clear and straightforward. There is nothing too complicated about this device, you put the o rings around the quartz tube, wipe the quartz tube with a little alcohol on a soft cotton cloth. Open the Stainless Steel tube and insert the quartz tube into the chamber. I rinsed out the tube prior to doing this just to remove any potential manufacturing debris. Hand screw the end cap back on and while holding the bulb with a soft cotton cloth, (DON'T TOUCH THE LIGHT BULB, like halogen lights, the oils on your fingers can damage the lamp.) attach the electrical cord from the Ballast to the light bulb. Note: there are 4 pins, 2 of the pins are a little closer together than the other two. The cord will only attach one way. Don't force it. Gently insert the lamp through the hole in the nut and push the rubber end cap over the nut. Put one of the Quick Connect fittings on the input and one on the output. (The input and output are interchangeable. Do what is most convenient for your system.) Place the UV lamp in the supplied clamps, plug it in, and you're good to go.In my case, the first bulb I installed was faulty, and the Ballast was blinking red and beeping. I tried a few things then pulled the lamp out and found some haze on the inside of the tube and a piece of metal floating inside the tube.I got the second bulb out and installed it, and everything worked perfectly.I contacted the vendor about the damaged bulb. Within 24 hours they got back to me and took full responsibility for the bulb problem. They promised to send a new bulb immediately. I couldn't be happier. Customer Service as it should work, where the vendor actually takes responsibility for their product rather than insinuating that I did something wrong. How refreshing!I don't expect the bulb for a while yet (it is coming from China after all.) I have no reason to doubt that it will arrive soon and in the meantime, I know that the water I'm drinking is sanitized.Very simple to install, nothing to really know to make it work, except if the ballast is blinking red, or beeping, check your bulb. Go forth and enjoy clean refreshing water as it was meant to taste!

The housing, fittings and alarm ballast seems to work fine. But both the UV-C lamps have failed in about 6 months each. If it weren't for the alarm on the ballast telling me the bulb was burned out I'd be drinking un-purified water having expected them to last the typical "at least one year" when they get replaced anyway because of the wavelength change due to age. I'd go for a different manufacturer of the tube. Look for different printing on the tube. That might help.

it has connection for1/4" tubing which i used for an under sink application. the camber is well constructed, and the light should get all water passing through. the ballast has a light that says it is working. i had a hard time getting the plastic connections to not leak, even with allot of teflon tape, but that may be just the plastic. i used it with a carbon filter to produce drinking water. overall quality item.

Does not work ballas keeps burning out in will constantly fault don't buy this product they don't stand behind it

I don’t write many reviews but this is the worst thing I have bought from Amazon! The seal for the uv light bulb leaked , the delivery tubes were 1\4 inch, which in my plumbing experience is not used in the US, sizing up to standard 1/2 inch was a nightmare. And as I said, in the end it leaked badly... I threw it away!
