Good as a straight MIDI controller
I don't understand Ableton one bit, but this has been interesting as a direct MIDI controller, with the easy-scales feature being particularly of note. Not sure what all of the features are. It's quite sturdy and well made, and the pads have a good response, if anything slightly better than others I have used, as I hate having to hit anything too hard.

Excellent and versatile
I already own a Novation SL MkII so I'm familiar with the make but when a key stopped working and AutoMap became dodgy on Logic X, I decided to replace it with the Launchkey. I had a setting up issue which actually was nothing do with the keyboard. I rang the Novation technical helpline and their technician was amazing - really helpful and resolved the issue. I needed transport controls particularly and a straightforward but versatile range of functions. For me, this is pretty much ideal. The feel of the keys is good (not maybe as good as the Roland A49 or the Korg Taktile) but others may well disagree - it's about personal taste. So, I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Good for Ableton.
Syncys well with Ableton. Seems well made, nice feel on the keys. No power switch so its always lit up even when your pc is off so you have to unplug the usb, deducted a point for that. Its not a show stopper though, for the money its very good.

Works well with most stuff I tried, very impressed.
Out of the box it looks great. Full size synth style keys, nice action on pitch?modulation wheels and the pots and sliders have a nice amount of resistance when operating them. I use Arturia synth plugins in the main and was able to use the Learn function on them to assign either pots or sliders ( can't use both on Arturia) to controls of your choice. When using it with a DAW you really need to download the very small control program from Novation site for you OS to enable the functionality of the keyboard within it. Other than a bit of a learning curve (intuition pays off if you're used to using other MIDI controllers) I think this is excellent for home users like me.

Game Changer
If you use Ableton this is an absolute must. It's probably my most crucial piece of musical equipment now, sorry Les Paul.

Great MIDI Controller, especially when bought on such a big discount.
I have a 25 Key MKII and some Roli Blocks which are great but really wanted a five octave controller to use with Ableton and this integrates better with it than almost anything else on the market, and way better than anything else in it’s price bracket. 30% off on the recent Prime Sale sold it for me and really enjoying making music with this.

Great MIDI Keyboard for the price
Brought this on a special offer, really good value for money. Even at full price. This is a great MIDI keyboard, the 49 key has enough keys to play most songs and create music. The 16 touch pads are very responsive and easy to use, takes a bit of time to learn how to get the most out of the keyboard but well worth the time spent learning. Also comes with Ableton light version to get you started, lots of great free sounds available.Very pleased with this keyboard, hours of fun and creativity using this product.

Ableton Control At Last!
This is my (quick count) 7th MIDI keyboard and finally I get one that actually backs up it's claims of being deeply integrated with Ableton Live. So many claim to be but are so fiddly to set up, and don't cover all the important settings, that they've been confined to the dusty corner.Every key, slider and pot are clearly labelled and just work (and feel very nice). If you partner it up with the Novation Launchpad Mk3 you have all your basses covered for internal and external sequencing. Finally, after several false starts, I have a keyboard setup I can trust.
