Not DMC the singing group or floss!
I’m not one that usually takes the time out of my day to write a review, I figured enough people have previously done so. However, in this case, I must take the time to offer my opinion. I want to state before I start, I have not received any compensation for my time nor review. With all that being said, I will start out saying this is the best generic cross stitch floss I have ever used. When I say that, I probably in the past 50 (ouch, am I that old?) years spent thousands of dollars creating masterpieces for weddings, birthdays, babies, housewarmings, memories and even items for their fur babies, I don’t discriminate. I admit the floss everyone started out using is a great floss. I have no problems with DMC floss. It does the job it is intended to do, the colors are brilliant, the durability is there, it’s what we all have used because there were no options. The problem is, it is very pricey. On average a project can use 50+ colors and at .60 a color, you can spend $30.00+ on floss alone. This is not including the fabric, metallics or charms. We won’t discuss the cost of framing. What used to be a $10 -$15 gift jumped up to $75.00+. In some cases the cost prices the project out of reach for some. They may be like me and uses this craft as a sort of therapy and has to settle for less due to the cost. Now there are tons of wannabes out there that say they are equal to or better than DMC for less money. This was not the case UNTIL I found the Thread Nanny here on Amazon. I have to admit I was very skeptical, they sounded too good to be true. How could anyone produce a floss as good as DMC for pennies? Well, they have and I will stand behind them 100%. This floss is not only affordable but offers the same characteristics as DMC. I have taken each individual color number and compared it with the DMC color chart and yes, in some instances there may be a slightly different color than the DMC color, but who cares? We are not mixing this brand and DMC on the same project or at least I don’t. Pink is pink, blue is blue, etc. I hate to think how much I spent on DMC because of my skepticism. Money down the drain. I have already used quite a bit of my first purchase of the 447 color package. As soon as I complete this review I will purchase another 447 package. I have gradually weeded out DMC and have replaced it with floss from the Thread Nanny. In closing I must say, I am one happy lady because of this company. The Thread Nanny has made me a very happy Grammy!

Great Bargain - Beautiful Colors - Nice Feel
I think this is a fantastic way to build up your floss inventory. Yeah - so they ain't perfect. Instead of all the skeins being 1 complete length - I did have a couple, maybe 3 skeins that were either cut or tied together. I'm going to cut the strands anyways, so that doesn't bother me. I did compare the colors to my DMC floss and for the most part - they match. However, there are some colors that are not exact. Does that matter to me - not in the least. I had rather have the variety of colors at a good price. I will use these to kit my small patterns and I think they'll turn out just fine. I have pictures of some of the colors. I got anxious to get them on bobbins and stopped taking pictures. Let me say - I am pleased that the majority of the colors do match up well with the DMC floss that I do have. Either way - I will enjoy using this floss and I plan to buy again. In the pictures - the ones labeled TN - are thread nanny floss and the other is DMC. As you will see - for the most part, the colors match up well enough.

Better quality than other floss
I review a lot of embroidery floss for my tik tok. I make friendship bracelets and have wanted to review this brand for a while. I love that the skeins have two papers on them, it helps to prevent tangles. The quality is nice and I am excited to use these more.

Buy the lot to get what you want
It is a shame that it is not possible to buy the embroidery thread colours one at a time as required for a particular project. Way to difficult to source individual colours. The only way is to buy the box of all the DMC coulours to get what you want.

Very Close to DMC
I compared both the color and the stitch out to DMC. The color is very close in most cases. I would compare the color differences to a different dye lot in the same brand. As far as the stitch quality, this floss appears to be less tightly twisted making it look a little bit fuzzier when stitched out next to the DMC. Conclusion, I would not try to use the same color DMC & this in the same project because you will see the difference it both color and coverage. But I wouldn't hesitate to use this instead of DMC. One advantage this might have is on 36ct linen. A single strand of DMC is not enough coverage for me, but 2 strands is almost too much. Since this is a little "fluffier" it might be fine to use 1 strand on 36 ct. I just wish I could replace single colors as needed. EDITED: I too did the singe test and agree this is NOT 100% cotton like DMC. So I would not mix DMC & this floss in the same project or use it for your heirloom pieces. I only found 3 skeins that had a not it them.
