Build is easy..but precise and beautiful.
I’ve build dozens of laser-cut plywood kits; marble runs, cars, music boxes, even switchblade knives. And I always marvel at the design and engineering that goes into making beautiful 3D objects out of a few sheets of plywood. For me, it’s about the step-by-step joy of creating than the creation itself. Kinda Montessori…kinda “it’s the journey, not the destination” enjoyment. That said, this model is very nice…even nice to play with when it’s finished. First of all, the quality of the laser cuts is really good, as is the quality of the plywood. Almost no burs to sand, no peeling layers of plywood on even the finest fitting tabs. And it really is precise: If something doesn’t fit together exactly and snugly, you probably made a mistake. (I took a piece that appeared symmetrical and realized that I had installed it upside down four steps earlier. Easy to fix once I saw it.)And do know that the acrylic box is critical to the project. We all like to finish up kits when we get to the final steps, but acrylic isn’t like plywood, it doesn’t give and has to be “coaxed” into place. But the cut is as precise as all the others and it does fit exactly. I got to that stage at midnight (an 8hr build) and peeling the protective paper off the acrylic was getting frustrating. I told myself that it would still be there in the morning. This morning I tackled it again (hint: a little heat helps to loosen the glue) and it is now a very cool-looking and very challenging labyrinth. It’s like building and playing that M.C. Escher staircase print.I would have taken a picture, but others have done it better than I could. Besides, the joy in this kit is really continues as you play it (and watch others play and admire it.)p.s. To the creators: The laser is super precise, but on those detailed bits, it leaves a bit of a scorch on the plywood that I don’t see in other kits. If there’s a way to amend that without sacrificing the quality of the plywood, it would make it a bit more of a polished display.

Amazingly well designed
I've put together many wooden "puzzles" at this time, and this is the most intriguing and pleasurable to build. It's not easy...but the pleasure of building is well worth the care you put into it. The laser cuts are very precise...it helps to keep an exacto knife handy to cut the small sprues that hold the pieces into the wooden sheets. This is important as the fit of each piece is so precise that care from the beginning is important. Sanding the edges is also essential. The pieces fit to together with extreme precision and literally "snap" into place. Take your time...if it isn't fitting, look carefully at he directions, the drawings are very precise. Half the fun of this was figuring out just how and where the pieces fit. There were only two or three places that needed a touch of glue to make sure the pieces stayed in place. The directions warn you when the fit is loose and will tighten up after another piece is placed. If something is not fitting or snapping into place, review the directions and the previous step or two...(I skipped a whole set of instructions when two pages of the directions stuck together, and spent some time realizing that, but it was obvious something was off.) Creating the clear plastic cube was a bit of a fuss...an extra hand or two would have helped, but scotch tape is useful to hold the sides while you work on it. DO NOT force any tabs....your exacto knife is essential to getting the final edge tabs to snap carefully together, and they will. The plastic will bend a little, enough for the final fit. A good sense of which side is which is also useful when working with the wooden parts. It's a delight when all the parts are in place, the wooden section is tight and secure and the clear cube is secure around it. Then the fun starts. Remember, this operates in three dimensions...it took me an entire day to just get out of the entrance with the ball until I realized...ROTATE IT. All in all I would love to have another these to work with...perhaps the pro? Also...I almost forgot...they will provide free replacements for any parts that you break...what a joy that is to have to fall back on.

Fun
This was my first in assembly of a Maze. I’ve assembled countless 3D wooden puzzles and enjoy the engineering. The directions were clear to follow with explanations as needed including pictures for each part. I marveled how it all came together. The design was fun and I look forward to additional Maze type of purchases.

Tabs on plastic pieces break
The wood pieces go together fine. But when I tried to put the clear plastic pieces around it, the tabs started breaking off. I now need to file them down because they are a bit sharp.I watched a video of a guy putting it together, he was strong enough to bend the plastic pieces so they snapped together. I'm not. And since some of the tabs were already broken, I used the broken piece as the final piece and superglued it, works just fine. Except for the jagged parts.

Great puzzle!
Putting it together takes some time, but instructions are very clear and it’s quite simple. Some of the pieces are very snug and require a tiny bit of sanding (sand paper was included). Once you start putting the subassemblies together it requires a steady hand and some thought, but still very simple. Now as for the puzzle itself… There are 3 “levels” that from what I can tell get increasing difficult. You start at level 1 which has guardrails and is very fun to rotate the cube and guide the marble. When you come to level 2, some of the guardrails are gone, which means you don’t only rotate the cube to guide the marble through the maze, but you have to strategically and carefully move the marble here and then or it falls off. I haven’t made it to level 3 yet…
