Recommended for easy plug and play with driver!
I bought this docking station, now 2nd time same model. While this thing is beefy, blocky black docking station, it delivers 100% what I'm looking for. Not sluggish, easy plug and play after installing driver. Sharp screens, not slow or any resolution running at scale or low resolution. I had UD-6950PDH which is newer, silver, slim, but too bad it's slow - I would have loved to use this thing cuz its better, right? I run MacBook Pro M3 Pro with two 27" Dell monitors hooked up using DisplayPort. Would recommend.

Plugable 12-in-1 USB-C docking station failed 45 days after purchase.
I have used Plugable docking stations for over seven years now and have been very satisfied with them until now. I purchased a Plugable 12-in-1 USB-C docking station on June 30th 2025. The successful setup went quickly as I expected with a Plugable product. However, it has failed 45 days after purchase and no longer recognizes the wired ethernet connection or the second monitor attached to the docking station. I have rebooted everything numerous times switched components out (USB cables, ethernet cable, HDMI cables, connections, etc) and tested components with other functional hardware to confirm everything else is working correctly and it was. I have removed / reinstalled the Display Link drivers and the Display Link Manager. After all that, the docking station still doesn't recognize ethernet connection or the second monitor. Definitely a poor showing from Plugable. Will consider revising my rating after action from Plugable support. Followup: I submitted a trouble ticket to Plugable Monday evening (Labor Day) and Tuesday morning at 935 Eastern Time they responded to my ticket. Because I had followed all the steps available online to diagnose they were going to process this for replacement under warranty (two year warranty.) Very good response from Plugable to a difficult situation. I am changing my review from one-star to five-stars based on their promptly addressing the problem.

It might not charge/provide power to your laptop
I have an MSI Raider GE76 with a USB-C port that can take power, however, the 60 watts that this thing pushes out doesn't cut it. I wasn't disappointed by this as I expected that to be the case. If you're curious as to whether this thing will power your device, check two things: (1) does your device have a USB-C port with a little lightning bolt next to it? If so, then you've cleared the first hurdle - you have a USB-C port that can accept power from a device such as this; and (2) what's the wattage of the external power supply that came with your device/laptop? The external power supply that came with my laptop is 240 watts, so clearly the 60 watts that this thing produces doesn't suffice - in fact, I don't even get the little "plugged-in" icon down in the lower right-hand corner next to the clock in Windows 11. As far as the operating system is concerned, I'm only on the battery. So I have to plug my laptop in with the external power supply but, like I said, I didn't expect anything different when I bought this docking station. Also, the manufacturer's instructions are pretty candid about this, but I don't think they're as detailed as the foregoing. Everything else with the docking station is superb. I'm running three 1080p/60hz monitors off of it through the display ports. The setup was extremely easy - I just navigated to the website, downloaded the drivers, and installed them. I've used all the USB ports and the headphone jack, and have experienced no problems. My laptop has an ethernet port as well, and I haven't compared the speed of the on-board ethernet port with the one on the docking station. As far as I can tell, however, the ethernet port on the docking station is fine.

good but could use some improvements
I searched high and low for a docking station that would serve my needs and also have DisplayLink included in the technology. Overall I think this is a good option for the price point. There are plently of connections which I may or may not use all up although I like having the extra if needed. I connected 2 monitors to this docking station (1 4k and 1 1080p) and have been able to extend to those monitors from a HP Spectre, Dell work laptop, Lenevo work laptop and the newest Ipad Pro with M2 (only works with 1 monitor but thats Apple's fault). There are a few minor details that could be fixed or improved to make this a great product 1) how you connect the monitors actually matters and I had to play around with how I connected to displays. Currently I have the 4k monitor connected to "Display 2" using a DisplayPort connection and the 1080p monitor to "Display 3" using HDMI. Previously the 4k monitor was on Display1 and the 1080P on Display 2, using this set up some of the laptops would only extend to Display2 but not Display1 while other laptops would connect to both. Unfortunately, the laptops that were only connecting to one monitor we could not download the software that Plugable recommends because its a worklap and IT is very strict with downloading software. Not sure if downloading the software would fix it or not. I was able to 'fix' this is by switching to Display 2 and Display 3 now all laptops have been able to extend to both monitors connected. 2) sometimes the display layout on the main monitor gets wonky so I have to reconnect the laptop or completely restart it to fix it 3) sometimes the mouse goes crazy and starts moving on its own and I have to restart the laptop to fix this 4) Would love to have an option where you can turn off the power pass-through since the laptop is constantly charging. Not sure if this is healthy in the long run for the battery.

Great Product, Great Support
This is my second triple monitor dock from Plugable, my old one only had display ports so I wanted to update my dock to use all HDMI and move from a tower type dock to one that I could mount under my laptop tray for my new desk. Shipping was fast and was packed well. I got everything cabled up and one of my displays did not work. After self troubleshooting the Displaylink software and swapping cables and monitors to verify all connections were good and monitors were good, I contacted Plugable support. Pat from support was very responsive and was able to deduct that I wasn't using the USB-C cable that came with the dock!! Don't just use any plain old USB-C charging cable to connect your laptop to the dock. If it is not rated for data and display capabilities you will have issues getting all monitors to work! Luckily after some back and forth with support I ordered the correct cable from Amazon (i threw away the one that the dock came with because I wanted a shorter cable for my set up). In the meantime I found an Amazon Basics USB-C cable in my drawer o cables (you know that drawer, you have one too!) and all three monitors are up and running! I confirmed all three monitors can run on 60hz 4K resolution, but its too high of a resolution for my old eyes so I run it at 2560x1440 and everything looks great. I use this for work and some browsing/video stuff and it looks great. I don't think I would recommend for high end gaming or anything that needs high refresh rate, but for my use, everything looks and works great just like my last one. Highly recommend Plugable. Both docks I have owned have lived up to my expectations and my first experience with their support was spot on. Thanks for a great product!

Support sucks for this Product
I purchased this docking station to connect my three monitors, but it has been nothing but problems. Only two monitors work consistently, and the third monitor either does not connect or works intermittently. The customer support experience has been very disappointing. Their support process is email-only, and responses take 1–2 days. When you reply back, they disappear again for another couple of days, making it extremely frustrating to get any real help.I eventually had to contact Amazon Support to escalate the issue because the manufacturer support was so poor.I would not recommend this product to anyone.

4.9/5 | Great Docking Station, But a Couple Minor Criticisms
I'm coming off a RAZER Thunderbolt 4 Chroma Dock that died after less than a year. (DO NOT BUY FROM RAZER!! Their support is AWFUL!!) After my RAZER Dock died, I found this from Plugable and thought it'd give it a go. I have A LOT of peripherals to connect to my Mac. I've got a Yeti USC Mic, Web Cam, 2x 27" monitors, a Focusrite Scarlet Solo, Harmon Kardon USB speakers, a Web Cam that's mounted on one of my monitors, and a 4 port USB hub for extra measure. It has just the right amount of ports and a little more! The reason I wouldn't give it a full 5/5 is the setup process is actually 'not quite' plug n' play. The RAZER Dock I had required no additional drivers or software for my M1 MacBook Pro. This Dock on the other hand, there is some software you need to install and the setup can be a little confusing. Coming from someone who used to be an IT pro, it even took me a few minutes to figure out. With that said, it's a good idea to have the software (DisplayLink Manager) up and running upon OS launch or else you may run into some minor issues. I'm also almost positive that you need to quit the software if you're going to unplug your Mac from a single, dual or triple monitor setup to use the MacBook as is, or else you end up with a black screen. Someone else mentioned in the reviews that their unit got really hot. I held a conference call on Zoom through this earlier, and rendered a 5 minute video through this earlier and did not appear to experience any outrageous temperatures from the Plugable Docking Station. One other thing, and this is super super minor. I personally thing the Dock is kinda plain and ugly looking, but it sits under my monitors and in the dark. It would look kinda nice with some under glow to it, but... meh. It's black and my desk is black, I work with the lights out and LED accent lighting behind my desk, so I don't really see it. Hope this helps someone out there!

Dying After a Year of Dual Monitor Use
When it worked, it worked great. But, sadly, it is starting to die after a year of use. The video ports are dying one-by-one and there's something failing with the power inlet port. Finally, it gets hot when use all day with dual monitors. I wanted it to work longer since the build quality feels good. But, for such an expensive purchase, I'm sad it's now dying after only a year of use.

Very nice unit. Excellent customer support
The fit and finish of the device is very good and it comes with high quality cables. It works exactly as advertised with two of my three laptops. The third laptop, a Lenovo X1 Yoga Gen1, cannot drive three monitors through the docking station, although it can drive two through the docking station and the third from the built in miniDP port. Even though it will not work as I had hoped, I got really excellent support from Plugable. They were very responsive to my emails, I never had to wait even a day for responses to my emails. Their emails contained a lot of good technical explanations. I would buy more Plugable product based on the quality of their tech support alone.

Works Well
Works well. Bought the 2nd one. Would be better if they have a 4 HDMI/DP option.

Quality product and fantastic customer service.
I received this very impressive docking station to replace a very old Dell Dock that wasn't working with my new laptop. It's packages professionally and has very easy set up guide. My dock did however have a faulty usb hub to which Plugable customer service (Pat) worked with me to troubleshoot the fault, and had no argument about replacing next day (Via amazon) once the troubleshooting steps was done. New dock works perfect as expected. It has features most docking stations could not keep up with hence my purchase. (100w laptop charging, 3x 4k outputs at once, and the ability to plug in multiple usb devices)
