I used this air gap when I installed my water softener. It works perfectly and meets the code I was trying to comply with. It is not hard to install as well. If you are looking for a good air gap unity this is it!!

it works but i wish the hose connector sealed onto the air gap better because there's a slight leak. i put a bit of sealant and it stopped but i shouldn't need to, considering how pricey it is.

Fits well with the abs stand pipe and does the job. A bit expensive for plastic, but all of these seem to be.

This is a simple device that solved a messy problem. Being new to water softeners, we didn’t know what to do when the hose for regenerating the water softener popped out of the standpipe. We tried zip ties and tape but nothing worked and things were getting ruined! While researching a solution I came upon a This old House video that showed how to set up a water softener system and specified an air gap. I jumped on Amazon on found this air gap. It was easy to install - we did use pvc glue and a hose clamp - and the problem was solved! We just wished we had found it sooner!
