I was concerned because hair bands I’ve bought at regular stores pinch my head. They’d leave sore spots behind my ears. These bands are so much more comfortable and hold my hair off my face. There are little teeth along the inside that grip well but do not tear the hair out when removed.These are more expensive but you get a durable and attractive item. When you buy something you want to get your monies worth and something that will last and look good. This item meets all three worthiness points.

Pros: Each head band came in a lovely reusable chiffon fabric gift bag; the color is classic tortoiseshell, true to that shown in ad photo; classic "old school" style with inside "teeth" to hold thick hair off the face; these ARE quite a bit more flexible than plastic, so I was able to bend them around a round wire basket and submerge in hot water to reform/widen the arc to fit my broad head, thus making them far more comfortable to wear (plastic ones tend to break/won't take on/retain a new shape as well as this celluloid material).CONS: One star off because they look "shiny" just like the cheap plastic kind, I was expecting a more "matte" finish. I suppose I could get a "satin" finish by rubbing it with steel wool or 600 grit sandpaper to get the look I desire on one of them, and leave the other one shiny/glossy.I bought two so I could experiment to see if this type of headband will fit my needs, and (after stretching them out in hot water as mentioned above), I am testing them by wearing both of them on my head as I am writing this and have had them on for a couple of hours and there's no pressure headache. That makes the cost well worth it IMHO, now I need to give all my cheap plastic headbands to someone with a smaller head, or toss em in the trash :/

I was getting headaches from other headbands and this one is perfect. It's tight enough that it holds your hair back, but loose enough that it doesn't make you feel like your scalp is in a vice.

I love headbands, but have an enormously round head, which can make some of them uncomfortable to wear, particularly wide styles. No problems with this one! It's just bendy enough to be comfortable on my big cranium, without being so bendy that it loses shape. A great, classic look!

Wear it all the time and it never gives me a problem. It matches my brown hair and it stretches to conform to the shape of my head and never pinches me throughout the day at all!

Band is beautiful - fits a bit snug but that could be due to thick hair. Came in pretty bag
