A very smart, enjoyable, constructive guide
This is a wonderful guide and impetus to begin physical conditioning. An even better credential than the author’s Master’s degree is her RCP (Reformed Couch Potato). She understands the obstacles we ourselves create to avoid better conditioning and has worked out a variety of ways to get over them. Instead of any cookie-cutter approach she emphasizes the individual, the personal, encouraging us to start with what we are/have and to develop our own advances in direction, technique and range. We can find the “fitness” that “fits” us. This makes advance seem possible. Her chapters are like a good workout — each providing a variety of short and complimentary “reps.” She writes in a charming personal voice, so reading her is like having her at our sweaty elbow, encouraging and guiding. And how smart is she? When she puts us on the mat she has us “lying” instead of “laying.” She’s the first trainer I’ve had that didn’t have me wincing on that. For such relief much thanks.

A perfect Christmas gift both for myself and everyone I know.
This fitness book is perfect on so many levels. I read it through the first time for information and now reread it when I need to be inspired or supported in my efforts to keep the fitness goals I established with the author's help on that first reading. It will stay on my desk whenever I need inspiration and will be the perfect Christmas gift this year for family and friends.

This book is such a fantastic reminder that fitness is a lifestyle. Kathleen is pragmatic in her advice, helping to remind readers that any movement is better than no movement at all and to find your inspiration in your own body and mind. I loved reading this book and continue to reference it often as I develop my own healthy habits and lifelong love of movement.

Amazing and Informative!
Outstanding book. Totally changed my approach to health and fitness. I got it right when it came out and couldn't put it down. I would recommend to anyone. I have a lot of experience with fitness and this book still provided so many fresh and new ideas to apply to my life.
