I don't think a world-religion and ancient philosophy reader ought to have a book collection without the Arthashastra. If one owns a Tao Te Ching, a Bible, various of Plato's work, Upanishads, etcetera, this should fit right in among them. This pairs well with The Prince, and Art of War, although I originally keyed in on Kautilya's Arthashastra via Vatsyayana's Kama Sutra. So, one might put Arthashastra on a shelf with The Art of War, The Prince, but also Upanishads, and Kama Sutra, and Ovid's Art of Love. I could go on... but just dropping this short review as-such. It's a good book.
