Outstanding build quality and performance that's worth the extra cost.
I've tried at least 7 different trimmers over the past 5-6 years - all of varying cost and quality, but this trimmer is undeniably the best one I have used to date. I decided that once I retired from the military, I wasn't going to shave skin-close any longer. Not out of a sense of laziness (far from it), but because my skin had suffered two and a half decades of irritating shaving, leaving scars from the endless parade of ingrown hairs. While I was Active Duty, I tried every shaving trick, remedy and device that claimed it could give a smooth shave while causing no side effects or skin irritation. It was all bunk. My flight doctor and dermatologist told me the only solution for my skin type and hair shape was to keep the hair above the surface of the skin (which wouldn't happen on Active Duty). Once I retired, I started using trimmers instead of razors for keeping my facial hair in check and neat. None of them worked very well - creating an uneven pattern in my dark facial hair, not cutting very cleanly, choking on and ultimately pulling my thick facial hair or snagging on my skin. Fed up, I shopped around and read a lot of reviews for a lot of trimmers, tried some well reviewed trimmers and continued to be frustrated until I decided to suck it up and spend over $75 on a professional level trimmer (actually reviewed by professionals).I can say that to date it has been worth every penny. My skin is much happier, my facial hair looks neat and groomed - and the initial high cost seems to be a distant concern. Are the results 'transformational'? No, my face is far from perfect - and this thing can only do so much with what you have. The trimmer cuts clean, doesn't snag or pull, it's quiet, the blades don't get hot, the charge duration and re-charge time is reasonable - and for those who care: it has an attractive and quality appearance - the build quality is very good. If you find yourself looking for a solution for problems similar to what I have described - I strongly recommend this trimmer.

Probably the most accurate and quietest trimmer on the market...! A great value...!
As someone who started using "stylists" in the late 1960's, when men's salons first caught on, and styling competitions were becoming a huge thing... I've always had some form of electric trimmer to manage my mustache, eye brows and facial hair. My first trimmer, purchased on the mid 1970s, was the plug-in Andis Model AE T-Edger. I've owned cordless trimmers since. It was because I saw my hair cutter using her Sterling Mag that I got interested in updating my home trimmer inventory. Bottom line, this is the best trimmer I've ever used. The Sterling Mag is unique in that the trimmer body is light, quiet and very durable. The blade is unique, evidently, to the Sterling Mag. It's narrow, with super-fine blades that LITERALLY....... allow me to cut single mustache hairs! It's that accurate. Couple its accuracy with its ergonomic shape that makes it easy to hold, and its near silent operating noise level, and you've got one of the best trimmers on the market. That's not just my opinion, but the opinion of many professional hair stylists.I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this trimmer to any of my friends. I'm keeping this one at home, and have put my older Wahl cordless trimmer in my travel kit.NOTE: I suspect that some reviewers are confusing the purchase of the Wahl Sterling "Trimmer Kit" or "All in One" Trimmer Set. That product, while the trimmer body looks identical, and is about $20 less in cost, is not the Sterling Wahl "Mag" Trimmer. When someone says, "My trimmer doesn't cut well, or isn't accurate......", I suspect they're talking about the Wahl kits. They do not have the "ultra sharp-fine blade." Their "trimmer blade" is actually not much better than a trimmer attachment you'd find on an electric shaver.

Great, quiet trimmer
My girlfriend cuts hair at a children's salon and Wahl is the only brand she ever buys. This trimmer is light and has a small profile which is good for her small hands. It very lightweight and the battery holds a charge for a long time. The blue color is fun and different. Maybe most importantly is that they are very quiet. This is extremely important for her because so many kids hate getting their hair cut as it is, so at least there is no loud noise when these are used.

Worth the extra money versus cheaper units
I use this for trimming my moustache, sideburns, eyebrows, and ear hair. I had a cheaper Wahl unit that I used for several years that probably wore out the motor brushes (i.e. the motor wouldn't run at all unless I hit it with my hand and only until I started to change position but the wires were good). This one is much quieter, cuts better, cuts more accurately, and can run either from the internal battery or with the charger hooked up. It also has replaceable heads (i.e. blades) for when the sharpness finally goes away. The battery lasts quite a while. The unit I replaced would require pushing the cutting edge into my sideburns more than once to reasonably block off the sideburns. This unit never requires more than once: it makes a clean edge on the first try. This was recommended to me by my hair stylist when I asked as I was trying to figure out which to buy from the myriad of those available. She uses it everyday at the shop and doesn't need to recharge until after the day is done. The other stylists in the same shop also chimed in that they really liked it.

Lasted 9 years and counting!
I used this daily for past 9yrs. The battery has finally started to the signs of aging. Great value for money.

Trimmers died and would not charge
I normally love these trimmers. But when I got the package and opened it up, the trimmers were apart like someone was trying to fix it. I put them together and turned them on and the motor died after a few minutes, and it wouldn’t charge. What a dud.. And why try to resell them if they were not working? Definitely not convenient when you are a hairstylist.

Excellent product
I liked how quiet it is, speed is fine, and a very close/precise cut. Quality is great!
