The AP917HD contains filter media that reduce sediment, chlorine taste and odor. It improves water quality and taste while supplying cleaner, clearer water to every water source point in the house. The innovative Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) design, an industry first for this application, allows for fast and easy cartridge change-outs without having to contact the filter media or the need for a filter wrench. Tested and verified by manufacturer's laboratory. Replace every 12 months, at 100,000 gallons of use, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow occurs. Review: Clean, Fresh Water Every Time - I absolutely love the 3M Aqua-Pure Whole House Water Filter! The quick change filter design is amazing and makes maintenance a breeze. The genuine replacement filter AP917HD works wonders in reducing chlorine, taste, odor, sediment, dirt, and rust. I highly recommend this system for anyone looking to enjoy clean and great-tasting water throughout their home. Review: Perfect - I have been using this for 18 months now. I have a well with heavy sediment content and a strong "swamp" smell. First step is a Rusco spin down filter with a 500 mesh that I have to clean once per month or two, then the pressure tank, then the Aqua Pure. The water is clean with absolutely no sediment, no smell and no taste. The pressure does not seem to be an issue, the tank is set at 70ppg. I have pressure assisted toilets that are one story up and 30 ft from source that function fine. The pipe plumbing is not the best 1/2 inch PEX with no manifolds. (Yikes) So the story on this is good pressure transference, adequate life (may turn out excellent) and does the job of cleaning water. ## Features - WATER PURIFICATION: Experience the ease of a home water filtration system with the 3M Aqua-Pure Whole House Sanitary Quick Change Replacement Water Filter AP917HD. The HD-S keeps all of the scale build up off of my shower heads and dishwasher. We use to use the HD and it worked great for the chlorine, but did nothing for the scale build up. **Q: If this one will reduce water pressure?** A: I have a 2.5 story new house, and it's been installed since we moved in 7 months ago. We have never had great water pressure, and two people can't shower at the same time. I just tried bypassing the filer, and there's much better pressure. So yes it does reduce pressure, but I guess that's to be expected with a good filter that removes debris down to 5 microns... **Q: this says it can filter 100,000 gallons of water, me and my wife only use about 37,000 gallons a year, does it it mean it will last 2+ years.** A: This depends entirely on your water quality. I don't every see anywhere close to 100,000 gallons on mine before I start to get reduced pressure. If I had a one story house I could probably get longer, but I have to replace this every 12 to 18 months.. and I use less than 40k gallons a year. That being said, I live in AZ and my water quality is horrible.. and this filter makes a HUGE difference. **Q: Is this any good against bacteria/fungi/viruses? Want to know for my house in Mexico.** A: No. The filter only removes particulate matter. The material it contains is granular activated charcoal (GAC), the same substance that hospital ERs use to treat persons who have ingested poisonous material into their stomachs. The filter also removes chlorine, the substance that kills bacteria in water. If your water source is not treated with chlorine or similar anti-bacterial methods, you should not drink it. Think of chlorine as a protective wrapper. The filter removes the wrapper prior to drinking the water. If you buy a sandwich from a store, it comes in a protective wrapper. You don't eat the wrapper with the sandwich. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clean, Fresh Water Every Time *by K***N on 20 June 2025* I absolutely love the 3M Aqua-Pure Whole House Water Filter!
