I like to wait awhile before I write a review so that I can see how a product withstands use. My cats are adult and medium sized. They broke the string w/ the mouse the 1st wk, but there was enough string left on both parts to tie it back together, and it has since remained intact even w/ vigorous play and practically daily use. The base is wide enough that the post has never been overturned while being clawed or the mouse attacked. The sissal (sp?) wrapped around the post has not unwound and remains intact. Although one can clearly see that it has been scratched, it is not unsightly. The fuzzy cover for the base remains firmly attached and looks new. I recommend this product and would buy it again. I think my cats would agree. ; )

My cat loved this so much that the string part was gone the next day! But she loves it, so I love it 😻

The post itself does the job of entertaining and offering my cats a place to scratch and play. They both seem to love it and use it often.However, this post should come with a larger base, even weighted. The base that comes with it is entirely too small to support the height.It toppled over while the cats were playing. They have since gotten used to it and know how much climbing they can do and also know when to jump out of the way if it falls over.My husband switched the base with an older post we have that is larger and even it doesn’t offer enough support.I bought this during prime days and got a good deal so we decided to keep it, especially since the cats were smart enough to adapt.

My kitten loved this for the first few days. However one night while he was playing with the dangling toys, his back leg got tangled in the elastic, and he would have hung there for hours if I hadn't been home to rescue him with in seconds. I have never heard him cry so loud before. I don't know if he was truly hurt or terrified he couldn't get free. He didn't touch it after that. I have put the cat toy away until I cut off the dangling toys. It was also unstable and needed to be proped up under the couch leg to hold it up when he jumps on it. Be careful with this product...especially the dangling toys.

Works as intended, my foster cat used it immediately. He did pull it over a few times, we anchored the bottom under a piece of furniture.

We had to put weights on the bottom to keep it from falling over. It’s a good scratching post but there are better products on the market.
