We were looking for a new harness for our stubborn English Shepherd, who loves to back out of his current one. After doing a ton of searching and reading dozens of reviews, we narrowed our choices down to this Ruffwear Web Master and a much cheaper 'knock-off' of this harness. We ordered both so we could compare them side-by-side. It was clear from the start that the Ruffwear harness was a much better made item. The biggest difference was the quality of the plastic clips. The clips on the cheaper model felt like they would break in no time. This Ruffwear harness seems very strong, and most importantly, will not allow our dog to back out, thanks to the third strap around the belly.I did knock the rating down to 4-stars for a couple of reasons. First, my dog is not the biggest fan of how this harness was designed to put on. Having to lift his whole front leg through the hole to get him in and out of it is a bit of a pain. Second, I feel like the Large/XL size should be two separate sizes. Our dog measured exactly 32-inches, so he was right on the line of a Medium or L/XL. We ordered the Medium first and, though we could get it on him, it was way too tight. The L/XL, however, has a lot of slack to tighten on the straps. Though it does fit him, the padding on the straps doesn't line up centered on his underside, due to how tight we had to make the straps.Overall, we are very pleased with this product and would highly recommend the Ruffwear brand.

This is hands down the BEST harness I’ve ever purchased. My sweet but cunning German Shepherd often tries to evade his walks by laying down, resisting, and rolling upside down. With the harness extending past his rib cage and the convenient handle on top, I can easily pick up my 85 pound boy to get him up and back on track for his walks. I bought the L/XL size and with a few adjustments, it fits very well. Love this product and highly recommend!

I needed an escape proof harness for my girl who developed Wobblers Syndrome. Her C3-C6 vertebrae were stenosed, and this harness fit perfectly. The chest strap can be adjusted so that the top part fits behind her shoulders, her front legs can move freely and we can adjust the stomach strap so it doesn't come off over her head. The XL size has a cut out under the lift handle, so there is no rubbing. The buckles fit very tightly, and this is a well designed, quality harness.
