Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet, 1380mg Fish Oil for Dogs w/EPA DHA - 16oz

This was recommended by our vet, for our 7 year old arthiritic black lab about 6 months ago now. Since he loved it so much the first time I put 1 teaspoon upon his kibble, I also give it to our 2 year old black lab now - as far as I can tell, there is no downside to supplementing this. Their coats have improved so much omg. Dandruff, shedding and itching? Psshh thing of the past. Adding this to the comprehensive arthiritis treatment regimen that was crafted together with our vet, our 7 year old's mobility and overall happiness factor (if thats a thing? lol) seems to be much better. The Vet complimented both dogs coat, as its so shiny now. We have had no issue with GI issues or stomach upset from using it, the dogs seem to love it, it doesn't have a strong smell. If my vet recommends it, I trust it. I was warned not to give *too much because it can cause stomach problems and or possible bleeding. So 1 teaspoon at breakfast, 1 teaspoon at dinner. 10/10 Definitely Recommend.

I adopted a senior pup, his coat was dull, dry, and coarse. After about four weeks he started getting what looked like mange on his hind legs; I became concerned. But, the rest of his fur became noticable softer and had a bit of shine. Eventually, I realized that he was shedding his unhealthy and dry coat. The new and healthier coat coming in. Now at six weeks, all the u healthy shedding is gone. Replaced by a much softer, silkier and healthy looking cmfur coat. If his outside improved, I'm bound to believe the inside did a bit too. I will continue to use this with all my dogs, as I was able to see the difference with Harrison. I'd recommend for the furbabies, all day. Five stars.

My 16.5 year old cat LOVES this and thinks it's his treat. I think it provides essential fat for his entire body, coat, and brain. He's been getting a daily serving of this for years and it cut his horrible hair balls by about 98%. They're now a rarity. I buy this larger bottle and use a dropper with an appropriate cat-sized serving. Google serving size for your cat's weight. A+++

UPDATE: nowhere on the bottle does it say you should shake it...but yes, you need to shake it every time before you measure it out because the oil seperates in itself and if you don't shake it by the time you get halfway through the bottle you will have while milkiness of what has sunk down.... and you are not giving the proper dose if you don't shake it...so basically i had to throw away half the bottle and buy a new one after I found out you are supposed to shake it! Very frustrating! the current top reviewer jen ortiz says she DIY homemade food for her dog and adds this to it, that might sound good but its a very bad idea. Dogs have very specific nutritional requirements and you should only feed them food that meets the strict guidelines of the WSAVA. There are only 3 brands that fully meet them: purina, hills and royal canin. Everything telling you to feed boutique foods like blue buffalo or orijen or farmers dog or any raw diet or homemade food is dangerous for your dog and have been linked to several health problems. They spend their money on marketing and what 'sounds good' rather than what is actually optimal for dogs. Otherwise this fish oil has been good so far. Haven't noticed any adverse effects and his coat does look shinier. I hope it keeps him healthy. Most people start supplements when their dog starts breaking down, but I'm starting him off as a 6 month puppy, though I should have started him at 2 months when I got him, but hopefully this alongside his WSAVA compliant food and world class genetics will help avoid all the awful health issues other dogs end up having.

I was reviewing my current dog food regime with claude after watching a rather disturbing youtube video on the shenanigans in dog food labeling. I was also giving my dogs a multivitamin. claude suggested this product and a different food. I asked claude if it tasted good. he basically said this is like chocolate syrup on vanilla ice cream for a dog. they will eat it up. Truer words have never been spoken. my dogs had real difficulty not eating out of each others bowls and leaving food which then they wanted later. not so any more, since putting nordic naturals on their food, I feel like I am watching a 4th of july hot dog contest. they eat quickly - but not to quickly, ever last morsel of food. I put the food bowls up til the next feeding. as to their skin and coats, they were already beautiful but may have actually gotten better. another concern was that they would have fish breath. they do not have any noticeable change in breath. the other concern was in passing gas, and their has been really no noticeable change in that either. all in all this is a win win, my dogs are healthy, i’m not worried about one over eating because they finish their portion quickly, and it takes less time that having to watch them lazily eat, drop kibble on the floor and then eat it, get distracted, etc.

I started my dog on this as a puppy because he was constantly itching and scratching, and he has a wiry coat. Every morning I sprinkle the dose on the bottle over his kibble and give the bowl a shake to coat it. In our experience he's been much less itchy since we started, and a nice bonus is that it gets him eating his meals quicker, so he clearly likes it. It's been part of his morning routine ever since!

After a few weeks it did give my cat a healthier coat but it can and did give my cat diarrhea.

Using for a bearded dragon. He doesn’t seem to mind the taste, and it’s working to keep his heart healthy. The vet is very happy with the results. The substance is oily but the bottle doesn’t leak at all.

The price is great for this amount of product. It has been great for my (35lbs) dog— his coat has gotten a lot better and so has his gut health. I started using this Omega-3 for my male cat who has stud tail syndrome. I don’t really know the effects. But it’s a plus supplement, specially for my 2 month old kitten who are so light and sick. I just used the drops and directly feed it to them. My sick kitten is full of energy and playful even if she has nasal congestion. And as to 3 yr old cat i think it gave her appetite to eat more as she doesn’t really eat much normally. So yeah recommend supplements for animals.
