Do not waste your money
Garbage. very inaccurate one beer had me at .1 and 14 beers .14. Multiple tests and this simply does not work. Spend the extra 50 bucks and get the better one.

Works well but you have to know how to use it correctly
I've had mine for a few months now and it does work and provide pretty consistent results, but you have to know how/when to use it correctly: So when I first bought it I wanted to test it out. I recorded a spreadsheet drinking one shot of whiskey every 20 minutes till I got to 6 shots, and I recorded my BAC 5, 10 and 20 minutes after each shot. So firstly, if you use it 5-10 minutes after drinking something its going to always read an insanely high BAC like .4 or something because of the alcohol still in your mouth. But what I also noticed and was frustrated with, was that even after 5 shots in, when I was definitely feeling quite hammered, the meter still ready 0.0. Only after the 6th shot it read a 0.02 and by that point I was pretty intoxicated and fell asleep before I could do more testing. So I assumed the thing was wildly inaccurate, but then at a new years party after we had been drinking on and off for hours we tried it again. It just said error a couple times, but if you keep doing it eventually it works, if its been unused for a while the sensor just needs to heat up and clean itself off. Once we got it working I was impressed by its precision. I only felt a little buzz still and I blew a .04. My friend then tried it and blew a .14 and was frustrated because he wanted to drive, he said the thing sucks and doesn't work... but then I used it again and it gave me a .04 again. we went back and forth 3 times getting the same results. At that point it had proven its repeatable results and I made sure my friend stayed and didn't screw his life up that night... So here's the trick, other than it not being accurate up to 10 minutes after drinking, and needing to blow ERR's a few times before it works, you also need to recognize that this will not be accurate unless your body has had time to actually metabolize the alcohol for it to be present in your bloodstream when you exhale from your lungs. This is different for everyone's body, and if you ate recently, and what kind of drink it is, and for me it seems to be longer, at least an hour till its all in my blood. I feel the effects of alcohol within 5 minutes but its not detectable in my blood for at least an hour after that. This is why its important to stop drinking at least an hour before you intend to drive because anything after that is gonna be continually increasing your BAC even after you leave and are driving your car. So, for an "in the wild" circumstance where you are actually drinking over several hours at a bar, this breathalyzer should give you pretty accurate results at the end of the night, provided all the alcohol has had time to get into your bloodstream by that point. It may also be useful as a calibration tool for your own sense of intoxication, that's primarily what I wanted it for. I wanted to know what specific BAC's felt like to me so I could accurately guess my suitability to drive, because realistically, most people could drive just fine up to like a 1.2, but here in Ohio the legal limit is 0.05 and that is a really hard amount of buzz to clock just by feel, and 2 long islands instead of 2 of some less potent drinks could be the difference between sleeping in a jail cell or sleeping in your bed.

updated review
Update: The company contacted me and offered a full refund. I increased the stars from one to three because of this. Glad to know they stand behind their product and put their customers first. My defective one was probably a fluke. Original Review: This worked for about 2 weeks before it stopped working. We used it a few times but did not have anything to compare results to so I am not sure how accurate it is. It stopped working, changing the battery didn't help. Do not recommend,

Works Great!
Works great! I chose to stay where I was instead of driving when my reading showed impaired.

Don’t waste your money
This product is FAR too finicky to be useful. Not only do you have to be mindful of the instructions and not drink, eat, or smoke immediately before using the product, but I found you have to do multiple tests and see a consistent result to be sure that the reading you’re getting MIGHT be somewhat accurate. Your first couple tests might read low. If you test many times in a row, it may start reading high. What’s the right answer? Who knows? Most recently I’ve tested myself after drinking a significant amount on two separate occasions and the reading was 0.0 every time. I doubt I’m that much of a heavyweight with drinking. They give you the disclaimer to cover their butts to not use this as an indicator of you being able to drive, but let’s be real; that’s EXACTLY why people buy this. This product is way too finicky and inaccurate for this, and the false sense of confidence it could give someone who doesn’t know better is not good. And to top it all off, the product is not eligible for return. Unless you want to sit on the couch and marvel at what your BAC level MIGHT be after a couple beers, STAY AWAY. Waste of money. Use an online BAC calculator instead, and err on the side of caution with how much and how long you’re telling it you drink, and you’ll get a much better understanding of your BAC level.

This is surprisingly accurate. Only bought for peace of mind if have 1 drink of beer or similar. Or used to for fun with friends to see their alcohol content .. (for fun they are not driving!) Great quality and accuracy for the price

If you like your drink like I do, this little device is an absolute life saver. After you stop drinking, it helps measure when you are fit to drive again. Tip: Eat before you drink and drink plenty of water after you stop. Helps accelerate sobering up.

Mr SICRE
