Cant keep warm
It’s cute but does not keep the food warm even with warm water. Plus, the hot water has a tendency to leak in the food. The bento box has to be upright at time which makes it not good for travel because the hot water that keeps the food warm might spill. This would be great if only it is microwaveable.

NOT GOOD FOR HOT LUNCH
I PACKED MY DAUGHTER A HOT LUNCH IN THIS BENTO BOX. I DID IT EXACTLY AS THE DIRECTIONS STATED. BY THE TIME SHE GOT TO LUNCH, HER ENTIRE MEAL WAS MIXED TOGETHER AND JUST GENERAL MUSH. ALSO THE BOWL INCLUDED IN THIS IS NOT EASY TO OPEN FOR AN ADULT AND A CHILD CERTAINLY CANNOT OPEN IT ON THEIR OWN. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LUNCH BOX UNLESS TAKING THE INSERT OUT AND USING THE BOX AND LID FOR A SALAD.

Some aspects of this simply confuse me and I'm afraid to use it
They say it can go in a microwave, but most microwave ovens don't allow you to heat anything metal. There are some newer ones that do allow this, but it's dangerous for them to advise customers to put the metal tray in their microwave given that most people probably have the older style. The second thing I find confusing is that the picture shows both the metal tray and plastic base being put in what looks like a toaster oven! I thought once I got this everything would be cleared up based on what the box or manual instruct you to do, but the box says nothing and there is no manual. Third, even if you solved the mystery of how to heat the food on the tray, how would you then place this hot metal tray in the support tray with water in it? Again, I know the picture shows both the metal and plastic outer case being heated together in a toaster oven, but I'm not going to try that without some reassurance the plastic won't melt. This seems completely crazy to me. What temperature can you heat this plastic at in an oven and for how long? Perhaps the company will see my review and change their product page to make this clearer, but until such time I will not use this. The last thing I want to mention is the soup cup. It's teeny-tiny, and the lid is impossible to get off even when it's empty. I cannot imagine how you would remove it when it's filled with hot soup.

Good for a lunch box, but not for keeping lunch warm.
This is a good lunchbox for a diverse lunch as it has many pockets for food. But the food doesn't stay in one place, and if you don't keep the lunch straight. i used this lunch box for school and kept it in my backpack, when I opened the lunchbox it was only a bit warm but it wasn't good for lunch. The hot water method also would only work if at home or at a place with accessible hot water. It's a good lunch box for work or even home, but not for travel.

Great lunchbox
I put some cookies in it before Christmas. When I went back to them in Jan, they were still fresh. And I love the small round container. It’s perfect for a small potato or macaroni salad for lunch.
