64 bit??  Is this product for 64 bit?  The description leaves room to question.

The 64-bit?? description actually refers to the memory interface (bandwidth) of the card.  It has nothing to do with the OS being 64-bit (if the driver supports your OS it will work) but how much information it can squeeze through the pipe at a time.  In this case it's a 64-bit pipe (fine for desktop software and web browsing).  128-bit is in between (3D games and hd video run smoother) 256-bit and up (high performance games).

Does this card work with Linux (Kubuntu 12.10)

My gpu runs fine on Ubuntu 14.04. I installed the os and the pc auto installed my MSI Nvidia geforce gt 620. it has been running without any issues

Surround sound ?

NO, HDMI puts out Dolby High Definition 2 channel audio. The sound is noticeably weaker then the cheap audio card I was using. I'm just using a cheaper 8 WATT 2.1 out the head phone jack of a 24" led 1080p with the TV speakers on. It's ok for me next to my bed but I still wish they had the 16 WATT in stock at the time. So you'll have to use a SEPARATE AUDIO CARD FOR SURROUND SOUND. Hope it helps YA...

i have a hp with a 300 watt power supply and was wondering if this will power this card

Hmmm... hard to answer without knowing what else you've got drawing power in your system. According to this website: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-620/specifications the card draws a max 49 W, and they specify a minimum 300 W power supply for a system to support this card. You don't say which HP system, but if you've got a typical consumer-ready system with no extra hard drives, or other power-drawing after-market devices added in, you're probably safe to go. (Who knows how close to load HP provisions their systems?)
